Another few weeks have gone by, which means I’ve been able to watch more film on the incoming prospects. We’re now tipping the scales at over 150 prospects, which allows me to start expanding my big board to 100 players. Some players I’ve gone to watch a second time because I was torn on their evaluation, while others are locked in.
When I have a player like Najee Harris at No. 4 overall, it doesn’t mean I’d select him with the No. 4 overall pick in the NFL Draft. The way I do the big board is based upon how talented a player is and how I believe he translates. While there is no such thing as a “can’t miss” prospect, the top of my big board is comprised of the players who I believe are the closest thing to that, and yes, Harris fits the bill.
This year is unlike any other, as there won’t be an NFL Combine for these players to showcase their skills against their competition, so film study is more important than ever. There will be Pro Days, though they’ll surely have inflated numbers, so it’ll be hard to properly weight them. I’ll continue to update my big board as I’m able to cram in more games on each of the prospects, but here’s where I stand on the top-100 as of right now.
