FanDuel NFL Value Plays: Week 10 (2020)

This piece is part of our article program that features quality content from experts exclusively at FantasyPros. For more insight from Geoff, head over to GoingFor2.com.

Week 10 is here. Yes, Week 10! A lot of pundits didn’t think the NFL would make it this far into the season with COVID, but here we are. It’s been an interesting season, to say the least, but at least we have a season. On to this week’s values…

Quarterbacks

Tua Tagovailoa (MIA): $6,800 vs. LAC
Only the Falcons and Seahawks give up more points to the quarterback than the Chargers, giving up 23.05 fppg. After a mini-breakout last week, Tagovailoa will look to build on that game as he matches up against another rookie quarterback on the other side in Justin Herbert.

Running Backs

Mike Davis (CAR): $5,400 vs. TB
I don’t like Davis on FanDuel as much as I do on DraftKings this week, but even at $5,400 versus a tough Bucs defense, he is a great option. His involvement in the passing game makes him game-script proof, and with Christian McCaffery unlikely to play, Davis will get 80-plus percent of the running back snaps and touches.

J.D. McKissic (WAS): $5,300 @ DET
McKissic has at least six catches and 40 yards receiving in four of his past five games. Only the blowout win against Dallas, when his receiving prowess was not needed, did he miss those marks. Last week against the Giants, his 14 targets not only led the team for Week 9, but it’s the most targets for any Football Team player all season — including Terry McLaurin. The Lions give up the fifth-most fantasy points to running backs — giving up 29.72 fppg.

Wide Receivers

Jakeem Grant (MIA): $4,600 vs. LAC
With Preston Williams headed to IR, it is Grant that is expected to step into an every-down role as the No. 2 wide receiver next to DeVante Parker. With Williams going down last week, Grant received five targets, catching four for 35 yards. Not a huge stat line, but Grant is one of those players that can take a short pass to the house in the blink of an eye. At $4,600, his upside is tremendous.

Danny Amendola (DET): $5,200 vs. WAS
Kenny Golladay is expected to miss his second straight game this week. Last week, without Golladay, Amendola had 10 targets, seven catches for 77 yards. The Washington defense is the No. 1 defense in DVOA and they give up the fewest points to wide receivers so far this season, but Amendola’s route tree keeps him close to the line of scrimmage, which could lead to a bunch of check downs for Matthew Stafford.

Tight Ends

Ross Dwelley (SF): $5,000 @ NO
Both Dwelley and Jordan Reed are both $5,000 this week, leaving them a true toss-up as to who is the better play this week. We don’t really know who gets the lion share of targets against the Saints, but they give up the second-most points to tight ends this season at 18.93 fppg. I’m leaning Dwelley as the tight end to own based on his snap percentage last week with both guys healthy, Dwelley played on 74 percent of the snaps compared to Reed’s 23 percent.

Defense

Arizona Cardinals $3,600 vs. BUF
I don’t love any of the cheap options at defense this week, but if I had to choose one, it would be Arizona. Not because they are a good defensive team, but because Josh Allen has been known to turn the ball over, and maybe the Cardinals are gifted a pick six?
