Tracking dramatic shifts in pricing trends from FanDuel DFS gives us a glimpse of players on the rise or fading away. These extreme shifts mean the market is moving in ways that naturally create more room for error in the price point. It’s our job to find out if there’s an edge to be had and exploit it — or if it’s indeed fair value. Below are some of the players that have moved the most from last week in pricing and my take on them as a possible play or fade this week.

Quarterbacks
Lamar Jackson (BAL) vs. CIN $8,900 (-$700)
Fantasy performance is slowly taking over more than name recognition and last year’s results in Jackson’s pricing. He is still the second-highest priced quarterback on the slate despite being the seventh in positional PPG. A Bengals defense that has allowed the fourth-most rushing yards per game could be the exact prescription he needs in a repeat get right game.
Brian Hoyer (NE) at TB $6,700 (+$700)
Priced as one of the cheapest quarterbacks even with the increase, there likely is nothing to be had here. We all are expecting Cam Newton to return to action this upcoming week despite the COVID designation for Week 4. If that somehow is not the case, taking his performance against the Chiefs into consideration would then be your guidance.
Running Backs
Kareem Hunt (CLE) vs. IND $7,000 (+$1,100)
Nick Chubb was injured against Dallas and expects to miss over a month. The resultant surge in Hunt’s price, considering that both Chubb and Hunt are top-eight scoring running backs so far, seems fair. It doesn’t seem like much of an increase, to be honest, but the difficult matchup with the Colts might be why. An upside play in an offense that revolves extremely heavily on the ground game is never a bad choice, high price or not.
Kenyan Drake (ARI) at NYJ $6,200 (-$800)
Some things in life are disheartening, and Drake now being the same price as Jeff Wilson is one of those things. After an electric 2019 campaign, he has done nothing but disappoint every week by losing targets to Chase Edmonds and the vast majority of rushing yards to Kyler Murray. Drake can’t be trusted going forward.
Despite half as many rush attempts, QB Kyler Murray leads the Cardinals in rushing yards and touchdowns compared to RB Kenyan Drake.
Murray: 265 yards and 4 TD
Drake: 254 yards and 1 TD— David Zach (@DavidZach16) October 5, 2020
Wide Receivers
Amari Cooper (DAL) vs. NYG $7,800 (+$700)
Dallas faced three of the worst defenses against wide receivers over the last three games in the Browns, Seahawks, and Falcons. He has performed very well during that stretch, but he is slowly becoming inflated in pricing. Any receiver on this team can break out in any game, so leaning on the cheaper options of Gallup and Lamb where feasible may be the better route.
Terry McLaurin (WAS) vs. LAR $6,300 (-$300)
McLaurin was a fade for most in a tough matchup last week. He proved himself against a tough Raven’s defense to one of his best games of the season. His price likely falls due to a matchup being shadowed by star cornerback Jalen Ramsey. He is 10th in the league in points, and he’s tied with Allen Robinson, who was priced at $7,000 last week. He’s certainly not a bad flier with his discounted price.
Tight Ends
Dalton Schultz (DAL) $5,300 vs NYG (+$400)
Every Cowboy involved in the passing game is trending up. Schultz joins Cooper as two of the highest movers this week, and as said in Cooper’s blurb, they’ve had a plethora of juicy matchups in shootout scenarios. Should they ever start taking leads, Ezekiel Elliott and the ground game would likely benefit. Nine point favorites against the Giants should very likely be one of those games.
