FanDuel NBA Lineup Advice: Monday (3/9)

Kicking off the week, Monday’s schedule of games features an incredibly light three-game slate, all of which tip-off at/after 7:30 p.m. EST as the main slate. The Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors are the only teams operating on a back-to-back.

Point Guard

Trae Young (PG – ATL): $9,600 vs. CHA
There isn’t much star power at the point guard spot on tonight’s slate, though Young leads the way by a country mile as the next nearest point guard is more than $2000 cheaper. Young will be one of the toughest decisions for DFS players to make tonight, as he’s struggled mightily in his last three contests, missing one due to an illness and playing less than 30 minutes in the two remaining games. With that being said, the Charlotte Hornets present a nice matchup as they rank 24^th in defensive rating, though they do operate with a terribly slow pace, ranking 30^th in that regard. As it currently stands, the Hawks lead the night in implied scoring totals, and Young – who ranks 4^th in the NBA in usage rate – is always going to be at the forefront.

Eric Bledsoe (PG – MIL): $6,200 @ DEN
With Giannis Antetokounmpo expected to miss this contest, many of the remaining Milwaukee Bucks players come into play. Bledsoe looks like a decent option with the lack of options at point guard, and he is coming off a strong 42.1-point performance against the Phoenix Suns. His matchup is tougher tonight with the Denver Nuggets ranking 14^th in defensive rating and 29^th in pace, but expect Bledsoe to see a significant increase in ball-handling duties and potential usage rate.

Shooting Guard

Khris Middleton (SG – MIL): $7,000 @ DEN
Middleton almost feels like an automatic play every time Giannis is sidelined, and though that may not actually be fact, on tonight’s slate it seems like a wise decision. The matchup against the Nuggets will be a tough feat to overcome, but Middleton is a usage monster sans-Giannis, and will simply need to put the team on his shoulders on the offensive side of the ball, providing him with more than enough opportunities to potentially make hay. Middleton – like Bledsoe – is coming off a strong Sunday performance in which he totaled 43.4 FanDuel points.

Devonte’ Graham (SG – CHA): $6,100 @ ATL
On a thin slate, Graham feels like one of the chalkier and “shoe-in” options on the night, mostly because of the amazing matchup he gets by opposing the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks rank 28^th in defensive rating and 6^th in pace, and Graham is the most consistent weapon the Hornets possess. Expect to see a lot of Graham in lineups tonight.

Small Forward

Cam Reddish (SF – ATL): $4,600 vs. CHA
Reddish has struggled with health in his last three or four contests, but looks to be fine tonight and could finally register a full game of health and regular playing time. In addition to most likely being a full go, fellow small forward De’Andre Hunter is currently listed as questionable, potentially giving Reddish an extra boost in minutes. Outside of his recent struggles with injury, Reddish really began to come on and develop into a legitimate DFS option/threat.

Pascal Siakam (SF – TOR): $7,900 @ UTA
The Raptors’ rotation is once again becoming full and harder to predict with more guys becoming healthy by the day, though Siakam still resides in his own territory at SF on tonight’s minuscule slate. The matchup is no cakewalk as the Utah Jazz rank 11^th in defensive rating and 24^th in pace, but Siakam is coming off a strong 48.1-point performance and has totaled 48+ FanDuel points in three of his last six games.

Power Forward

PJ Washington (PF – CHA): $5,200 @ ATL
Washington doesn’t possess much of a ceiling, though he has developed a strong floor and hasn’t scored less than 23.8 FanDuel points in any of his last six games, and scored less only once in his last nine contests. Like Graham, Washington benefits from a nice matchup in the Hawks and is provided a massive pace-up opportunity by opposing the Hawks.

John Collins (PF – ATL): $8,600 vs. CHA
I seem to be stacking a lot of Young and Collins lineups recently, and with good reason. Collins has developed into a star in his own right, totaling 40+ FanDuel points six times in his last eight games. Not only is he capable of scoring on any part of the floor, but he scoops rebounds, can pass, and carries the ability to routinely chip in on the defensive side of the ball.

Center

Dewayne Dedmon (C – ATL): $4,700 vs. CHA
Like some of the other guys on this list, Dedmon doesn’t carry a high ceiling, mostly due to his lack of playing time (hovers around 20 minutes per game recently). That will always hamstring him, but Dedmon has put together two decent performances in his last two contests, totaling 29.2 and 21 FanDuel points respectively. He’s a decent option if you’re looking to pay-down at the center spot on this slate.
