Tonight’s DFS contests will feature a loaded 11-game slate with tip-off locking at 7 p.m. EST. The Brooklyn Nets are the only team operating on a back-to-back as they played on Sunday. Let’s get into the lineup.

Point Guard
Marcus Smart (PG – BOS): $6,400 vs. SAC
Starting point guard Kemba Walker is likely to be out again, leaving Smart in the starting lineup. In 2019, Smart has become an incredibly consistent DFS play, particularly on FanDuel, as his total points have ranged between 27.5 and 36.6 in all of his past eight contests. The dynamic changed for Smart as a starter, as he’ll now be relied upon to play even more minutes, revealed by his previous two games where he registered 40 and 32 minutes. Smart’s matchup against the Sacramento Kings is a positive one as they rank 20th in defensive rating but only rank 27th in pace. It’ll be a slow-paced game, but one where Smart should have an excellent chance to return value.

Malcolm Brogdon (PG – IND): $8,500 vs. MEM
Brogdon is finally expected to play after missing the past three games (basically four) due to an ailing injury. Brogdon has ascended to superstar level in 2019 with the Indiana Pacers. Brogdon’s well-rounded game and defensive ability have lauded him as a great DFS play, and now his price tag has obviously dipped with his absences. One thing to obviously look out for is a minute’s restriction, but the matchup is a great one for Brogdon as the Memphis Grizzlies rank 23rd in defensive rating and 6th in pace.
Shooting Guard
Spencer Dinwiddie (SG – BKN): $7,800 at CLE
Dinwiddie continues to be a fantastic play with Kyrie Irving nursing an injury. Dinwiddie has scored over 40 points in three of his past four contests, and he scored 40.8 FanDuel points yesterday on the back of a 30-4-4 performance. Dinwiddie is a talented scorer who has opportunities galore with Irving sidelined, and for the time being, he’s a great nightly play. The Brooklyn Nets are playing on a back-to-back, but the matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers is a positive one as they rank 24th in defensive rating but only 25th in pace.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (SG – OKC): $7,000 at GSW
Fire up any and every Oklahoma City Thunder player as they get the worst-ranked defense in the NBA in the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors are ranked 30th in defensive rating and 15th in pace, doubling down just on how good of an opponent they are to target. SGA is an incredibly talented guard who’s had some inconsistent performances lately, but the matchup presents a huge opportunity for a young and ascending player coming off a 42.4-point performance.
Small Forward
Jonathan Isaac (SF – ORL): $7,000 at DET
Not only will Isaac continue to start, but the absences of power forward Aaron Gordon and center Nikola Vucevic have opened more offensive opportunities for the remaining Orlando Magic players. In the two games without Gordon and Vucevic, Isaac scored 47.1 and 55.3 FanDuel points. Isaac is a monster defensively, using his incredible length to collect steals and blocks at will. It doesn’t hurt that he can chip in offensively. If all that wasn’t enticing enough, he also plays the Detroit Pistons, who rank 21st in defensive rating and 24th in pace.
Alec Burks (SF – GSW): $5,900 vs. OKC
Burks has emerged as one of the few bright spots for the Golden State Warriors. Burks has seen an opportunity for a lot of runs offensively, evidenced by his solid 21.6 usage rate percentage. Burks has the ability to collect points in a variety of ways, as he’s a capable scorer with solid rebounding numbers and the potential to chip in defensively. The Thunder are not a positive matchup, which is why I’d limit the exposure to the Warriors in this contest.
Power Forward
Khem Birch (PF – ORL): $5,500 at DET
Birch has struggled in his past two contests, scoring only 16.8 and 8 FanDuel points. His price tag suggests that a lot more is expected of him, and it is. Birch has been elevated into the starting lineup with starting center Nikola Vucevic out for an extended period of time. One area where Birch hasn’t been able to produce much is on defense, though he’s due for some positive regression in that area. The matchup for the Magic is a good one as the Pistons aren’t good defensively.
Robert Covington (PF – MIN): $6,300 at ATL
Covington missed the Minnesota Timberwolves’ contest on Saturday due to personal reasons, but he wasn’t listed on the injury report for the game tonight against the Atlanta Hawks. If RoCo is good to go, I’d feel great about sliding him in the lineup. His versatility and defensive prowess are well known at this point, ad he’s got a great matchup, as the Hawks rank 27th defensively and 12th in pace. This contest has by far the highest implied total for the night, giving you enough of a reason to find exposure to this contest.
Center
Steven Adams (C – OKC): $5,600 at GSW
Just like SGA, Adams benefits from an incredible matchup against the last-ranked defensive team in the NBA. The Warriors have been repeatedly shredded by opponents this season, leading us to believe that the Thunder will be no different. Adams is also coming off of a solid 32.2-point performance against the Los Angeles Lakers.
