Week 2 brings us another opportunity to bring home a big pot playing FanDuel GPPs. My recommendations last week had some hits with the Mark Ingram/Ravens defense stack plus the Le’Veon Bell call, but it struck out on the quarterback/wide receiver stacks.
I like to play the law of averages and take advantage of recency bias when finding GPP options. Now that we have a week of action in the books that everyone has seen and dissected, we can capitalize on that by using some players and stacks who let us down in Week 1 with poor performances at low ownership.
So, with that, let’s have some FanDuel GPP fun in Week 2 with a few stacks, a low-owned stud, and a few low-owned value fliers to round out our lineups.

Stacking Options
QB Ben Roethlisberger (PIT): $7,600 / WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (PIT): $8,100
The Steelers’ offense laid an egg in the opener against the Patriots scoring just three points in a blow out loss on Sunday Night Football. With that game in the sights of the entire nation, many DFS players will likely be down on the Steelers due to recency bias. This puts them in a perfect spot for a bounce-back effort at fairly low ownership as they come home to face the Seahawks in Week 2. Roethlisberger and the Steelers’ offense traditionally plays better at home and are expected to be in a close game that could turn into a shootout against the Seahawks. The Seahawks allowed 418 passing yards and a pair of touchdown passes to Andy Dalton in Week 1, which could mean good things for Roethlisberger and his top wideout JuJu Smith-Schuster who could also reduce the Steelers’ stack ownership with his questionable tag. A fairly low-owned Tyler Lockett is my preferred choice to run it back with on the Seahawks’ side even with his lack of targets in Week 1.
Bring it back with: Tyler Lockett (SEA): $6,700
QB Philip Rivers (LAC): $7,700 / WR Keenan Allen (LAC): $7,700
Keenan Allen could be a somewhat chalky option this week with the Chargers receiving corps a little bit depleted with tight end Hunter Henry out and wide receiver Mike Williams hobbled and questionable to play. Allen should garner a large number of targets as the go-to option for Rivers this week against the Lions. While Allen will certainly get ownership coming is way, I don’t foresee Rivers getting much attention which makes the pairing somewhat unique to start off a GPP lineup. Bring it back with Lions rookie tight end T.J. Hockenson who put up a massive debut with six grabs for 131 yards and a score and has the best individual matchup of the Lions’ pass catchers.
Bring it back with: T.J. Hockenson (DET): $6,000
RB Sony Michel (NE): $6,800 / D/ST Patriots: $4,900
I wrote it in Week 1 in this spot, and I’ll write it again this week and going forward, the Dolphins might be a complete train wreck this season. So, continue to jump on them early with opposing running backs and pairing them with the defense they face. The Patriots defense is high-priced as it should be in this matchup, but Michel is still underpriced for a primary running back facing the Dolphins’ run defense that was shredded for 190 rushing yards and two scores by Ravens’ running backs in Week 1. Michel got off to a slow start in the opener with just 14 yards on 15 carries, but this should be a get-well spot for the young running back who should find pay dirt at least once before the game gets out of hand.
Low-Owned Stud
James Conner (RB – PIT): $7,700 vs. SEA
Sorry to make this whole article about the Steelers, but this week should be a bounce-back spot for them, and I want to make sure I have the key pieces of their offense. Conner only managed 10 carries last week in the blowout loss to the Patriots. Last season, Conner averaged just a shade under 15 carries per game at home to go along with a handful of targets. The matchup against the Seahawks doesn’t scream success for Conner which is why he will be low-owned. However, the Steelers are one of most run-heavy teams inside the 10-yard line and could feed Conner even more close to the goal line with Antonio Brown out of town this season. Volume plus touchdown upside makes Conner an intriguing GPP running back this week.
Low-Owned Fliers
- Jared Goff (QB – LAR): $7,600
- Derrick Henry (RB – TEN): $7,500
- Cooper Kupp (WR – LAR): $6,800
- John Brown (WR – BUF): $6,300
- Will Fuller (WR – HOU): $6,100
- Jordan Reed (TE – WAS): $5,300
