This time of the season is truly bizarre. We have teams that are clinching, teams that are tanking and teams experimenting. That causes mayhem for DFS purposes and it’s always tough to figure out exactly what you’re going to get from all of these players. That’s why checking news is critical at this time of the year because it can lead to some diamonds in the rough that others won’t find. Pitchers
Hyun-Jin Ryu (LAD) $10,400 vs. COL
Ryu has been one of the best pitchers in the league this season and we have to love him in this circumstance. The biggest reason we like him is that he faces the Rockies, with Colorado ranked 23rd in K rate, 28th in runs scored, 30th in OBP and 29th in OPS on the road. That’s truly horrifying against a pitcher with a 2.35 ERA and 1.03 WHIP. He’s been particularly good at home, accruing a 1.77 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 9.0 K/9 rate at Dodgers Stadium this season. That’s why he and the Dodgers enter this matchup as a -320 favorite.
