FanDuel MLB Lineup Advice: Monday (7/29)

Welcome to our Monday edition of FanDuel lineup advice! The slate tonight is small but mighty, with five of the seven games boasting an O/U of 9.5 or higher. LAD @ COL unsurprisingly leads the pack with a whopping 12.0 O/U. There are also two other games (DET @ LAA, TOR @ KC) in the double digits. Pitching options are scarce, but there’s plenty of offense to choose from tonight.

Starting Pitcher

Merrill Kelly (ARI): $7,800 @ MIA
Kelly got smashed last time out against the Orioles, coughing up seven earned runs in just 2.1 innings. That outing has depressed his price in a good matchup against Miami. Kelly’s ERA rose nearly half a run because of that start, making his overall numbers look rather ugly. He had a 3.77 ERA before that outing against Baltimore and has a solid 3.1 K/BB ratio even factoring in that bad start. The Marlins have been pitiful against right-handed pitching this season, collectively posting a 75 wRC+, .650 OPS, and .121 ISO. With an 8.0 O/U, this game has the lowest total of the night. We can get one of the pitchers at a reasonable price.

Four-Player Rockies Stack: $15,700 vs. LAD

Daniel Murphy (1B): $3,600
Nolan Arenado (3B): $4,200
Charlie Blackmon (OF): $4,500
David Dahl (OF): $3,400
Dodgers starter Kenta Maeda has struggled with two things this season: pitching on the road and pitching to left-handed batters. He has a 5.23 ERA, 4.77 FIP, and 1.57 HR/9 away from Dodgers Stadium. Against left-handed batters, he has also allowed a .338 wOBA and .450 SLG in 2019. The Rockies can exploit both of these weaknesses in this Coors Field outing for Maeda, who could be in for a rough night.
