It’s time to get ready for Tuesday’s full 15-game MLB DFS slate on DraftKings. This slate has a lot of interesting options and storylines, including some players facing their former teams, a couple of games with hitter-friendly weather conditions, and a couple of high-priced aces in good spots. However, can you afford those expensive aces and still fill out a lineup you are comfortable with? Get that answer and more in Tuesday’s lineup advice.
As always, be sure to pay close attention to the lineups when they are released and monitor the weather leading up to game time. For reference throughout the season, be sure to bookmark our overview of MLB Park Factors and how to Use Weather to Your Advantage in MLB DFS.

Pitchers
Madison Bumgarner (SF): $8,200 vs. COL
Well, if you see my two pitcher recommendations, then you know the answer to the question I posed in the intro. I do not recommend paying up for either Max Scherzer or Gerrit Cole in cash games on this slate. Instead, I’ll live in the mid-range with Bumgarner pitching at home against the Rockies. Colorado struggles outside of Coors Field against southpaws, posting a 30.0% strikeout rate (second-worst), a .289 wOBA (23rd), and 75 wRC+ (24th) this season. Bumgarner is the perfect cash-game pitcher, as he battles to pitch deep into almost every outing while limiting baserunners and providing a decent strikeout rate.

Jack Flaherty (STL): $7,900 vs. OAK
Perhaps my favorite mid-priced arm to roster on Tuesday is Flaherty, who pitches at home against the Athletics. At home is the key to that last sentence, as Flaherty has a 2.49 ERA at Busch Stadium this season while allowing just a .248 wOBA with a 29.4% strikeout rate. He’ll face an A’s squad minus their DH, and they have struggled on the road against righties recently with a 25.7% strikeout rate (sixth), .291 wOBA (24th), and 80 wRC+ (22nd) over the last 30 days. Meanwhile, Flaherty has racked up at least seven strikeouts in four of his last five outings.

Hitters
Manny Machado (3B/SS – SD): $5,500 @ BAL
Machado is on fire at the plate right now. Over his last 10 games, he is batting .478 with six doubles, six home runs, 14 RBIs, and 15 runs. Next up, he returns to Baltimore to face his former club and, more importantly, the weak Orioles’ pitching staff. On Tuesday, he’ll face opener Jimmy Yacabonis, who is expected to be followed by lefty Josh Rogers. Machado has destroyed lefties to a .534 wOBA and .500 ISO this season. Any final at-bats will be against a bullpen that has allowed the third-highest xFIP (5.03) of the season. It should be a big night for Machado in his return to Baltimore.
Giancarlo Stanton (OF – NYY): $4,600 vs. TOR
Speaking of returns, Stanton has started to get in a groove with three hits — including his first home run Monday night — and seven RBIs in his last two games after coming off the IL last week. He will be in his sweet spot Tuesday against lefty Clayton Richard. Stanton produced a .428 wOBA and .329 ISO against lefties last season and is 4-for-8 with a double and a homer off Richard in his career. His price tag is just too low for this matchup and his huge upside.
Jay Bruce (1B/OF – PHI): $4,400 vs. NYM
Bruce homered in a pinch-hit appearance against his former team, the Mets, on Monday night. He should be in Tuesday’s starting lineup with the Mets throwing right-hander Walker Lockett, who yielded six runs in his first start of the season against the Cubs. In his brief big-league career, he has allowed lefties to produce a .528 wOBA with three homers over 53 plate appearances. Bruce has maintained a .331 ISO against right-handed pitching this season.
Jose Altuve (2B – HOU): $3,900 vs. PIT
If you only look at Altuve’s 2019 numbers, he probably won’t rank very high Tuesday. However, knowing his strong historical pedigree and looking at his recent game log, he should rocket to the top of your 2B list at his current price. Since returning from a long layoff just five games ago, Altuve has collected at least one hit in four straight games, including two doubles and a homer. Get him in your lineup before his price tag catches up to his production.
Eugenio Suarez (3B – CIN): $3,700 @ LAA
Anytime Suarez is facing a left-handed pitcher, I am immediately interested, especially at his current salary. The third baseman has posted a .370 wOBA and .226 ISO versus lefties this season and will face Angels southpaw Andrew Heaney on Tuesday night. Heaney can especially be prone to the long ball against righties, who have socked five home runs off him through his first five starts this season. During his career, Heaney has allowed a .341 wOBA and 1.95 HR/9 to righties.
