Buckle in, it’s going to be a wild Tuesday in the world of NBA DFS. We have a huge 10-game slate to navigate today. There are a staggering 13 players with salaries over $9,000 tonight, though Kyrie Irving has already been ruled out while LeBron James and Luka Doncic show up on the injury report. Plus, it’s been a while since Kawhi Leonard rested, so there’s definite potential for him to be out as well. The matchup between the Hawks and Pelicans is most enticing with a projected total of 240 points and the Pelicans favored by just one. Conversely, the showdown between the Heat and the Magic only sports a paltry projected total of 205 points. Keeping all this in mind, here’s my advice for tonight.

Point Guard
Trae Young (ATL): $8,200
No better place to start than the aforementioned juicy matchup in New Orleans, featuring the two teams that give up the most FD points across the board. Looking at point guard specifically, the Pelicans have given up the third-most FD points to the position on the season and the second most over the past seven. Enter Trae Young, who’s averaging 24.0 points and 8.5 assists per game over his last six while he tries to chase down Luka Doncic for rookie of the year. That’s translated to 40.4 FD points per game over that span, making his $8,200 price tag feel like a steal given the matchup tonight.

Point Guard
Trae Young (ATL): $8,200

Frank Jackson (NO): $5,600
The only defense that’s given up more FD points to point guards over the last seven games has been Atlanta, and by a wide margin of 7.33 more FD points per game to the position. Frank Jackson may be the biggest beneficiary here, especially with Elfrid Payton already listed as questionable tonight.
Ryan Arcidiacono (CHI): $3,600
There’s going to be an abundance of value to be had on the Bulls roster tonight with Zach LaVine and Otto Porter already ruled out and Kris Dunn not expected to play. Arcidiacono will see plenty of time on the court and shouldn’t have trouble paying off his near minimum salary.
Shooting Guard
Andrew Wiggins (MIN): $6,600
I don’t love any of the options at shooting guard tonight, so I’m playing it safe with Wiggins. He checks in with a nice floor, but it wouldn’t be a shock to see him have a high-ceiling night as well. With all the injuries in the Wolves’ backcourt, he’ll see extensive time on the court. He’s averaged just over 35 minutes per game over his last five while putting up 18.1 real points per game. It’s expected to be a competitive, high-scoring game against the Clippers, who have given up the sixth-most FD points to shooting guards over the past seven. Wiggins is a guy who won’t tank your lineup and could help you win big if he has a ceiling game.
Others to consider:
Jaylen Brown (BOS): $5,300
Brown is just the opposite of Wiggins, a boom-or-bust ceiling play. As of this writing, Jayson Tatum is considered a game-time decision after missing Sunday’s game with a back injury. If he sits, Brown will definitely see increased usage and may even start against a bad Cavs team.
Antonio Blakeney (CHI): $3,500
Another minimum salary value play, Blakeney seems poised to start and see significant run for the Bulls tonight. He’s yet another piece that should help you save money for some of the bigger names on the slate.
Small Forward
Troy Brown Jr. (WAS): $3,500
It amazes me that Brown’s salary hasn’t gone up from the minimum yet. He’s averaged 26.8 minutes of play over the last five games and started the last two. For the last three games, he’s averaged 21.2 FD points. That may not seem like much, but that’s an average of 6x value, which I’ll take any day. It’s clear the Wizards want to get a good look at their 19-year-old rookie, making him as safe of a play as you can find at $3,500.
Others to consider:
Giannis Antetokounmpo (MIL): $12,400
Yes, he’s the highest-priced player on tonight’s slate, but with all the low-priced value you can easily find room to fit him in. Call it a hunch, but something tells me the Greek Freak wants to show off for the home crowd tonight and put an exclamation point on his MVP campaign against James Harden.
Taurean Prince (ATL): $4,900
Prince is another affordable piece to take from Hawks-Pelicans matchup tonight. He’s averaged nearly 30 minutes per game over the past eight games, and that kind of opportunity in a high-paced, poorly defensed game is well worth the $4,900 price tag.
Power Forward
John Collins (ATL): $7,900
Right back to the well of fantasy points available at The Smoothie King Center tonight, John Collins comes in as my favorite power forward for many of the reasons already mentioned. The game will be fast-paced, with the expected point total at 240. The Pelicans are poor against the position — they rank fifth-worst against power forwards this season. Finally, John Collins has been really good lately, averaging 34.45 FD points per game over the past eight, including 46 FD points when these teams last met on March 10.
Others to consider:
Dario Saric (MIN): $4,100
Saric is another player that surprisingly hasn’t seen much of a price increase lately. He’s averaged 23.13 FD points per game over his last three games. While he has almost no ceiling, his floor seems incredibly safe, especially given the matchup with the Clippers, who give up the sixth-most FD points to power forwards.
Ersan Ilyasova (MIL): $3,900
A few weeks ago the Bucks had one of the deepest benches in the NBA, but long-term injuries to Nikola Mirotic and Malcom Brogdon have dramatically changed that. Now Tony Snell, a regular off the bench, is out tonight, opening up value for Ilyasova to start and see significant minutes. It won’t take much for him to pay off his $3,900 price tag.
Center
Al Horford (BOS): $7,100
Make sure to keep updated with the news on this one, but as long as Horford plays tonight against the Cavs he’ll be my preferred center. There are a number of great centers on tonight’s slate, but Horford offers the most bang for your buck. With Kyrie Irving out, Horford would see his usage and assists go up. The last time Irving was out, Horford nearly triple-doubled on his way to putting up 47.7 FD points. That kind of performance is well within the realm of possibilities tonight against the Cavs.
Others to consider:
Karl-Anthony Towns (MIN): $11,800
Towns has been nearly unstoppable since the All-Star break, averaging 56.9 FD points in the 13 games he’s played over that span. He takes on the Clippers, who have given up the most FD points to centers this season. Need I say more?
Thomas Bryant (SAC): $6,000
If you’re looking for more value at center tonight, Bryant is your guy. He’s seen at least 35 minutes and averaged 33.65 FD points in two games since head coach Scott Brooks stated that he’ll be starting for the “foreseeable future.” He should get plenty of opportunities tonight against the Lakers, who have given up the fifth-most FD points to centers this year.

If you start your lineup tonight with my five featured players, you’ll have an average of $6,675 per player to spend on your remaining four roster spots, highlighting just how much value there is to be had on this slate. It will give more than enough flexibility to pay up for one or more of the studs that are healthy and available tonight.
