This Thursday again we are treated to six NBA games. There are some poor defensive teams in these matchups which will be where most of this advice will focus on. The aim is to have a balanced lineup and take advantages of matchups where we can. However, it helps when you can add firepower like Karl-Anthony Towns and Donovan Mitchell to your lineup.

Point Guards
Tyus Jones (PG – MIN): $5,300 @ CHA
Jones is a combination of value play and matchup play. With the Timberwolves missing both Jeff Teague and Derrick Rose, Jones is given the opportunity to start against a relatively bad defensive team in the Hornets. The Hornets allow the ninth most Fan Duel points to opponents and also rank 22nd in defensive rating in the NBA. Jones should have plenty of opportunities to get his points against the Hornets.
Jamal Murray (PG – DEN): $6,900 @ WAS
Murray is coming off a terrible game against the Celtics but should bounce back nicely against the Wizards who allow the third most Fan Duel points to opposing Point Guards. The Wizards also rank 26th in the league in defensive rating. Murray over his last five games has averaged 26 Fan Duel points. He should be able to get around 30 Fan Duel points against a decidedly weaker team.

Shooting Guards
Donovan Mitchell (SG – UTA): $8,800 @ ATL
Mitchell gets a nice juicy matchup against the lowly ranked Hawks. The Hawks give up the most Fan Duel points to opposing Shooting Guards and rank 27th overall in the NBA in defensive rating. Mitchell has been averaging 38 Fan Duel points over his last five games. The only downside here is if the Jazz are blowing out the Hawks, Mitchell won’t play many minutes and his numbers could be way down compared to his average.
Aaron Holiday(SG – IND): $3,500 @ GS
Holiday is essentially a write off in this scenario and affords us the chance to take a few higher priced players. In what should be a blowout game Holiday should see some decent minutes but is not someone we should count on helping us out in this lineup.
Small Forwards
Harrison Barnes (SF –SAC): $5,800 vs. DAL
Barnes gets a chance to play his former team in the Mavericks and should be afforded the minutes to make an impact. Over his last five games, Barnes has been averaging 29 Fan Duel points. The Mavericks aren’t the best defensive team in the NBA, ranked 19th in defensive rating. Barnes should have plenty of shots to get to this 29 average.
Bojan Bogdanovic (SF – IND): $6,100 @ GS
Bogdanovic over his last five games is averaging 28 Fan Duel points and is the Pacers best player on the court most nights. He faces the Warriors who allow the fourth most Fan Duel points to opposing Small Forwards. Bogdanovic should offer some serious value given his price point of $6,100.
Power Forwards
Josh Jackson (PF – PHO): $5,400 vs. DET
Jackson should provide decent value given that Kelly Oubre Jr. should sit this one out with an injured finger. Over his last five games, Jackson has averaged 25 Fan Duel points. Jackson may not be the right play if Oubre Jr. suits up but there are many suitable options around to replace Jackson in the lineup.
Marvin Bagley III (PF – SAC): $6,600 vs. DAL
Bagley in his return from injury has come on strong especially in his last two games where he has put up over 36 Fan Duel points. In what should be an evenly matched team Bagley should be able to provide the scoring and the rebounds to make it worth taking him at his current price point.
Center
Karl-Anthony Towns (C – MIN): $11,500 @CHA
Towns over the last five games that he has played in has averaged 54 Fan Duel points. He goes up against Hornets who give up the 10th most Fan Duel points to opposing Centers. The Hornets defensive ranking is also fairly low as noted above. Towns should be able to carry this lineup and well exceed his 54 Fan Duel points making his price point worth it.
