FanDuel NBA Lineup Advice: Thursday (2/28)

Thursday again offers us a six-game schedule however quite a few of the teams are playing their second game of a back to back. Generally, that will mean more tired legs and you can see some stars struggle, however, there are a few matchups to keep an eye on that can really help propel your team to victory. The advice will focus on two stud players in Paul George and Kevin Durant.

Point Guards

Goran Dragic (PG – MIA): $4,100 @ HOU
Dragic is coming off an injury and has been playing limited minutes, but last night in 20 minutes he managed to put up 30 Fan Duel points. He was playing the Warriors one of the tougher defensive teams and now gets to play the Rockets, one of the bottom five defensive teams in the NBA. Dragic is a value at his current price point and should be able to provide at least 20 Fan Duel Point tonight against the Rockets.

Collin Sexton (PG – CLE): $5,000 @ NY
Sexton has been up and down, but still remains underrated on Fan Duel and is someone that should be started given he is playing the Knicks, who are ranked 27th in defensive rating in the NBA. Over his last five games, Sexton has averaged 27 Fan Duel points and should be able to exceed that against the lowly Knicks who will struggle to stop Sexton from stuffing the stat sheet.

Shooting Guards

Terrence Ross (SG – ORL): $5,300 vs. GS
Ross had an abysmal showing against the Knicks a few days ago and is only averaging 21 Fan Duel points over his last five games. The Warriors are a strong defensive team but generally tend to struggle in back to back and you could see them taking plays off on defense. Ross is the Magic go-to scorer off the bench and could provide valuable scoring in this game and always seems to bounce back nicely coming off a poor outing.

Damyean Dotson (SG – NY): $5,200 vs. CLE
Dotson over his last five games has averaged 26 Fan Duel points and has had a couple of big games recently. He matches up against the Cavaliers who are ranked last in defensive rating in the NBA. The Cavaliers also allow the seventh most Fan Duel points to Shooting Guards. These factors along with Dotson’s current play makes it a worthy gamble and could provide big returns.

Small Forwards

Paul George (SF –OKC): $11,300 vs. PHI
George has continued his strong play topping 60 Fan duel points twice in the last three games. Over his last five games, George has averaged 58 Fan Duel Points. It doesn’t matter who the opponent is George figures out a way to get it done. The harder the matchup the more it seems that George turns it on and provides everything the Thunder need him to do. Even though the 76ers are a tough defensive team, it shouldn’t matter for Geroge who should hit right around his average of 58 Fan Duel Points tonight.

*editor’s note — Durant is now sitting* Kevin Durant (SF – GS): $9,400 @ ORL
Durant is reasonably priced at $9,400 but faces a defensively tough Magic team who rank in the top 10 in the NBA in defensive rating. Durant over his last five games has averaged 48 Fan Duel points. Durant is playing in the second game of a back to back and could be conceivably tired, but after a tough loss against the Heat, there is a reason to believe that Durant will do everything in his power to avoid a second straight loss for the Warriors. Look for Durant to get going early and fill up the stat sheet against the Magic.

Power Forwards

Derrick Favors (PF – UTA): $6,400 @ DEN
Favors has been solid over his last five games averaging, 35 Fan Duel Points. In two of his last three games, Favors has managed to record three blocks as well as 11 rebounds. The Nuggets are a defensively stout team and this should provide Favors with opportunities to pull down boards and record blocks. Both the Jazz and the Nuggets rank in the top 10 defensively and this is a type of matchup that should allow Favors to showcase his skills and rack up the Fan Duel points.

Jerami Grant (PF – OKC)$5,800 vs. PHI

Given the limited options at Power Forward, it makes sense to take a flier on Grant who recently returned from injury. In his three games since his return from injury, Grant is averaging  31 Fan Duel points. At $5,800 this provides some solid value and a chance of getting great production. Grant has shown he can do the dirty work for the Thunder and still prove to be an effective scorer around the rim. Hopefully, Grant can do that against a tough 76ers team, but worst-case scenario he becomes your lowest drop score if the rest of the picks pan out.

Center

Mitchell Robinson (C – NY): $7,400 vs. CLE
With DeAndre Jordan already ruled out for tonight’s contest Robinson will draw the start at center again. Over his last five games, Robinson has averaged 40 Fan Duel points. As state above earlier, the Cavaliers are the worst defensive team in the NBA right now and this should afford Robinson plenty of opportunities to leave his mark. The Cavaliers also allow the fifth most Fan Duel point to Centers. One could argue at $7,400 Robinson is undervalued tonight, look for him to have a big night against the lowly Cavaliers team.
