Monday night in the Association serves up a seven-game slate. In could be a high scoring night as five of the seven games have a Vegas total over 220 including two that top the 230 mark with the Warriors/Hawks and Clippers/Pelicans. While those games do have some intrigue and DFS appeal, it seems like there is more value to be had in other spots as you will see from my DraftKings lineup advice for the Monday slate.

Russell Westbrook (PG – OKC): $11,200 @ DET
My one-stud decision on the Monday’s slate came down to Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook. Davis has a lot going for him playing in the game with the highest Vegas total on the slate and coming off a game last night where he put up 36 points and 19 rebounds. However, I’m finding it more difficult to find quality guards that I want to roster than big men, so I’ll pivot to Westbrook who has been his usual consistent self lately averaging a triple-double over his last six games with 22.0 points, 12.2 rebounds and 10.8 assists. He should be in a close game on the road against the Pistons who have allowed a slight bump in points and rebounds to opposing PGs this season.

Core Plays
Karl-Anthony Towns (C – MIN): $9,000 vs. HOU
Towns is just one of the center eligible options that interests me on Monday’s slate. Towns consistently plays big minutes and is the lead dog for the Timberwolves since Jimmy Butler was shipped out of Minnesota. He has Anthony Davis upside as he showed against the Bulls a few games back when he put up 35 points and 23 boards on his way to 73.25 DK points. In four meeting with the Rockets last season, Towns averaged 54.2 DK points per game while averaging 23.8 points and 14.8 rebounds. Go with Westbrook to lap the field at PG and hope that Towns can come close to matching Davis for $2,500 of salary savings.
Danilo Gallinari (SF/PF – LAC): $6,600 @ NO
I do want to get a little bit of exposure to the potential shootout in New Orleans, so I’ll snag some decent value with Danilo Gallinari. Gallinari has scored at least 31 DraftKings points in five straight games and is capable of scoring in bunches. He has had a hot hand shooting over 50 percent from three-point range over his last five games. Gallinari could also chip in with some hidden fantasy points a couple steals and blocks as the Pelicans have allowed a significant increase in both of those categories to opposing SFs this season.
Markieff Morris (PF/C – WAS): $5,900 @ NY
Morris has scored at least 20 points in three of his last four games while averaging 8.5 rebounds during that stretch. He continues to see minutes in the Wizards small-ball lineups and he draws a plus-matchup on Monday against the Knicks. The Knicks have allowed increase production in points (+16.6%), rebounds (+9.0%) and assists (+15.4%) to opposing PFs this season.
Gary Harris (SG – DEN): $5,100 @ TOR
Harris poured in 27 points in his return to the lineup on Friday after missing a couple of games while playing 36 minutes. Despite the strong outing and his consistent production, Harris sees his salary dip down to $5,100 on DraftKings for Monday’s matchup against the Raptors. The matchup isn’t ideal but he only needs about 25 DraftKings points to reach five times his salary which a mark he has exceeded in eight of his last 10 games.
Value Plays
John Collins (C – ATL): $5,300 vs. GS
Collins has registered two double-doubles over his last four games and is averaging 16.8 points and 9.0 rebounds per game during that stretch. He has put up at least 25 DK points in each of those outings while playing about 30 minutes a night. Collins should see a small boost in his production on Monday against the Warriors who have given up small increases in points and rebounds to opposing big men this season. The game also has the second highest Vegas total on the slate.
Emmanuel Mudiay (PG – NYK): $5,000 vs. WAS
It may feel like we are chasing points by rostering Mudiay on Monday after he had one of his best games of the season on Saturday with 28 points and seven assists on his way to 44.75 DK points. However, the strong performance and the expected absence of Trey Burke on Monday should keep his minutes up for his matchup with the Wizards. Meanwhile, the Wizards have been very generous to opposing PGs allowing increases in points (+16.1%), rebounds (+2.8%) and assists (+14.8%) this season.
Kevin Knox (SF – NYK): $4,000 vs. WAS
I don’t believe we are chasing points by rostering Mudiay, however, I will admit I think we are chasing points with Kevin Knox even though he also makes my value list for Monday. Knox played 37 minutes against the Bucks on Saturday and finished with a career-high 26 points with four rebounds and four assists. He is primarily dependent on his scoring to produce fantasy production but hopefully, he gained a little swagger with his performance on Saturday and can carry over his shooting stroke and minutes to Monday’s game while he is priced cheaply.
Alec Burks (SG/SF – CLE): $3,800 @ BKN
Burks was recently acquired from the Jazz and has played at least 24 minutes in his first two games with the Cavaliers while scoring 15 and 13 points respectively. His minutes and fantasy production could be adversely impacted when David Nwaba returns, so this play depends on him missing Monday’s game. Burks also offers great position flexibility on DraftKings with his SG/SF eligibility.
