John Orr discusses weekly dynasty IDP waiver pickups during each week of the NFL season.

I’m going to give you a few adds each week for you to think about and consider. I play in deep dynasty IDP leagues so my recommendations will be based on that. You won’t get the big name adds from me because they are probably owned already. Let’s get ready for Week 10!

Defensive End

Ronald Blair (SF)
I have to roll with him once more. He delivered with a sack last week, and I really like him to get another against the Giants this week. I’m not seeing much at defensive end this week so if you’re in need, go get him and roll the dice.

Defensive Tackle

Brandon Mebane (LAC)
One of my favorite stats is tackles for a loss, and he is top three at his position in that category. It’s a stat that shows he is getting penetration and it is a nice bonus in many leagues. When you get a high motor player who can deliver, you want him playing in your lineups against the Raiders.

Linebackers

Gerard Avery (CLE)
This rookie brings the heat! When you’re playing on a defense that could break a record for most snaps in a season, you have a shot at some points. I want him on my roster and, even if I’m out of the playoff race, he would be a valuable stash. With loads of potential and some serious pass rush chops, he will prove valuable.

Romeo Okwara (DET)
This 23-year-old has been on FIRE! He is not a player you’ll hear about, but he is silently putting up the numbers in a key support role. With more experience, he will only grow and perfect his skills. Averaging five tackles a game, it’s his big-play sacks that I love. He has five so far, and that’s going to get higher. This is another stash, and I would start him in leagues that go with more than a couple starters.

Safety

Jordan Lucas (KC)
Here you have a jack of all trades. Playing as the nickelback, he takes advantage of his snaps and can blitz, cover, and play the run. These are the depth players I like to hold onto so I can plug them in when I need some help. Not only is he fun to watch but he can help this week against Arizona if you’re in need.

Corner

Eli Apple (NO)
Settling in with his new team has been easy for him. With offenses throwing his way, the tackles piled up last week with five! Corners are always available, but he will be a solid option against the Bengals, and with the Falcons and Eagles coming up after, you will have a nice three-game stretch where you can plug and play him.

Get after it and good luck this week!
