No matter how many seasons I play fantasy football, I’m always struck by how fast the season goes. We’re nearly halfway through the season in what feels like the blink of an eye. It’s bizarre.
For many of you, the time is now to start checking when your trade deadline is. In most of my leagues, it comes between Weeks 9 and 10. In one league, it’s this Friday!
Regardless of whether you have 24 days or 24 hours, your time to make a deal is running short. And when you’re looking to make a deal, you can’t go in blind. That’s why we provide our trade chart below, which gives a relative weight to every fantasy-relevant player.
My usual reminder that the values are based off of 12-team, 0.5 PPR leagues. To the extent your league is larger or smaller, or uses another format, you’ll need to adjust.
Ready? Let’s deal.

Andrew Luck is now firmly in the circle of trust. It would have been fair to write off most of his early-season production to playing with a consistently negative game-script. But after Sunday against the Bills, it’s pretty clear that Luck should continue to pile on the touchdowns all year. He has the most passes and passing touchdowns inside the red zone, and the most passing touchdowns from inside the 10-yard line. Marlon Mack’s return and a healthier defense may keep games closer for the Colts, but it shouldn’t stop Luck from being a lockdown QB1 the rest of the year.

Some notable items went down after last week’s trade chart was published, so let’s discuss them briefly. Carlos Hyde loses almost all value heading to Jacksonville. He’ll likely play this week with Leonard Fournette surely out again, but then he’ll have his bye week and likely sit on the wrong side of a timeshare after that. In his stead, Nick Chubb vaults in value to reliable RB2 status, while Duke Johnson remains Duke Johnson. Because Hue Jackson.
Doug Martin and Jalen Richard also enter the fray with news of Marshawn Lynch’s groin injury. If you checked your waiver wire and saw both Martin and Richard after learning of Lynch’s injury, your reaction should have been:
They’ll both get work, and although I’d expect Martin to see the bulk of the carries, particularly after Jon Gruden’s comments on Wednesday, they’re worth roughly equal value in a trade in 0.5 PPR leagues. But you really do not want any piece of the Raiders at this point unless you’re desperate.
Other than that, the majority of the movers are risers based on performance and/or situation. Todd Gurley shouldn’t even be on this trade chart. We need a new chart that is Gurley only, and on it should be your car, your house, and your first-born child. Those are the only things acceptable to accept in a trade for Todd Gurley.
James White continues to dominate and will be without Sony Michel for at least a week or two, Phillip Lindsay is still getting it done and may not have to contend with Royce Freeman for a bit, Marlon Mack is legitimate, and Kerryon Johnson can thrive despite the presence of LeGarrette Blount. That’s pretty much all.

Frankly, it’s a quiet week in terms of movement on the trade chart for wide receivers. Briefly, some notable items.
I would not be trying to trade away Stefon Diggs by any stretch, but at some point, his numbers matter. He’s played in seven games and has 43 yards receiving or less in four of them. Kirk Cousins doesn’t have much time to throw, and has approximately 43.579% of his passes knocked down at the line of scrimmage (that’s a number I just made up – but it feels that way!). Diggs is still getting plenty of targets, but he falls back into mid-WR2 range with his performance.
Briefly on some other risers — go ahead and go after Alshon Jeffery, Emmanuel Sanders, and T.Y. Hilton without reservations. They should all deliver high-end performance from here on out absent injury.
On the flip side, Marvin Jones looks like a touchdown-dependent WR3/4 in this format, and I am not waiting around for Corey Davis to get going. Both will have a big game or two at some point, but neither should be considered reliable or worth trading for in this format.
Tight Ends
Player | Current Value | Previous Value | +/- |
Travis Kelce | 35 | 35 | — |
Zach Ertz | 35 | 35 | — |
Rob Gronkowski | 25 | 30 | -5 |
George Kittle | 8 | 7 | +1 |
Jared Cook | 7 | 7 | — |
Eric Ebron | 7 | 7 | — |
Jimmy Graham | 7 | 7 | — |
Trey Burton | 7 | 7 | — |
David Njoku | 7 | 6 | +1 |
O.J. Howard | 5 | 5 | — |
Evan Engram | 4 | 4 | — |
Jordan Reed | 3 | 4 | -1 |
Greg Olsen | 3 | 5 | -2 |
George Kittle should be valued as the fourth-best tight end in 0.5 PPR formats. He is slightly more valuable than pretty much every tight end other than the big three. That’s all I’ve got. Don’t trade for a tight end.
