Mike Tagliere’s Early Wide Receiver Rankings (Fantasy Football)

When you’re someone who studies football all offseason, you’re likely to have a lot of opinions about what will take place in the upcoming season. While there’s still tons of time to collect more new and exciting information, I’ve built a foundation for what my rankings will be built on.

These are important for a few reasons. One, to know what the baseline for their 2018 outcome is. Unless someone who is a full-time starter gets significantly injured, it’s unlikely to move a player that much in your rankings. That leads us to the second reason, which is to ignore the fluff from offseason reports. A long time ago, I realized that almost everyone gets talked about in a positive light. I’m serious, just check all news blurbs. Player X is looking great in pass protection, Player Y is set to receive 20 touches per week, etc. Ignore most of that. What you want to pay attention to is the negative news. When you hear a coach talking negatively about a player, that’s the stuff that should force you to move a player down your rankings a bit, depending on what’s being said about them. With that, here are my early rankings for the 2018 season.
