Fantasy Baseball Dynasty Trade Value Chart (Updated)

Fantasy Baseball Dynasty Trade Value Chart (Updated)

Well, my friends. We’ve just about made it. In a few days, the 2018 season will begin in earnest, and we will officially move from the preparation phase to leaving our well-constructed teams in the hands of the fantasy gods.

No, that’s nonsense. Your work has just begun. No league is won on the day of your draft or auction. Over the next six months, you’re going to be working hard every day to squeeze every stat you can out of your team. Trades, free agent acquisitions, lineup decisions – that’s what you’ll be thinking about all day every day from now on.

Of course, in dynasty leagues, we never stop thinking about trades. Improving your team in a dynasty league is a year-round endeavor, and the start of a new season is simply another opportunity to reassess your trade values in a dynasty format.

If you’ve read this article before, you know how it works. Below you’ll find a dynasty trade value chart, with a player’s “value” representing how much he is worth in a trade. It’s not an auction dollar or FAAB amount, but rather just a way to value whether a trade is fair. Take the players involved in both sides of a deal, total up their values, and whichever side comes out on top wins the trade. Easy-peasy.

As you’ll see, there’s been some major movement from our last update, which can be attributed to a few different things:

  1. Spring developments (i.e., Shohei Ohtani’s elbow plus his poor spring performance drop him a bit, while Scott Kingery and his new deal enter the discussion);
  2. Injury news (Daniel Murphy = bad, Michael Conforto = good)
  3. Me simply reassessing values. No, I don’t know why I valued Rhys Hoskins too low or didn’t like Willie Calhoun two months ago. I’ve rethought things, ok! Don’t @ me!

Seriously, don’t get too worked up over the changes. When you rank players in any fantasy sport, you’re constantly adjusting and reassessing how you feel about players. That’s all we have here.

Hopefully, you can use the trade value chart to get the best bang for your buck. Let’s take a deep breath before the madness begins, and get ready for another great season. Happy trading!
