FanDuel NBA Value Plays: Saturday (2/10)

FanDuel NBA Value Plays: Saturday (2/10)

It’s Saturday night and we have a six-game slate over on FanDuel tonight to kick off the weekend. There are only two players priced above $10,000 (assuming Embiid sits on a back to back with an ankle injury), which makes building a lineup fairly interesting tonight. Giannis Antetokounmpo is the top overall play on the slate and he will be a chalky option against the Magic at $11,500. In order to make that price work with the rest of our lineup, we’re going to need some value to balance it out.

Here are a few value plays, $5,500 or less, at each position that will allow us to free up some salary we can afford our stud players.

Point Guard

Tomas Satoransky (WAS): $4,800 at CHI

In John Wall‘s absence, Satoransky is starting to step up as the Wizards starting point guard. Over the past seven games, Satoransky has averaged 25.8 FD points per game while picking up at least two blocks or steals in every game. In tonight’s matchup, he gets to face a Bulls defense that has allowed the sixth most FD points to the point guard position on the season. He also has a plus individual matchup against Jerian Grant who ranks 73rd out of 99 PGs in DRPM. In a game that has a 214.5 total and a five-point spread, Satoransky should have plenty of opportunities and he is a strong candidate to exceed value on a cheap price tag.

Austin Rivers (LAC): $4,500 at PHI

After missing nearly a month and a half of action, Rivers returned to the Clippers lineup against the Pistons yesterday and put up 24.9 FD points in 31.9 minutes. There is concern that Rivers is limited or sits on the second half of a back to back after missing a significant amount of time, but if he has no restrictions, Rivers would be an interesting dart throw in large field tournaments. Rivers has a 22.8% usage rate on the season and he would also benefit if Milos Teodosic is forced to miss another game with a sore foot. He has 30+ FD point upside if he is fully cleared for tonight’s back-to-back set.

Shooting Guard

Danny Green (SAS): $4,600 at GSW

Green has re-emerged over the past four games for the Spurs, averaging 28.4 FanDuel points per game. With Tony Parker and Dejounte Murray both out for tonight’s game, a lot of people will turn to Patty Mills, but anything more than 25 minutes for Mills is still not a guarantee. On the other hand, Green offers a safe minute’s floor in the high-20s and offers a higher ceiling in tournaments. While the Spurs are 11 point underdogs on the road tonight, Green would make for a nice value play if they are able to keep this game competitive throughout. He has the ability to reach 7x on his salary if his shot is falling.

Small Forward

Kyle Anderson (SAS): $5,000 at GSW

Over the past two weeks, Anderson has largely underperformed – failing to eclipse 12 FD points in three of six games. Due to his struggles, tonight’s game against the Warriors offers a nice spot to buy Anderson at a low price point. In 399.4 minutes without Parker, Murray, Leonard, and Gay (all out) on the court this season, Anderson averages 1.01 FD points per game, which is third on the Spurs behind LaMarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol. Additionally, Anderson went for 38.4 FD points against the Warriors in a game earlier this season. If the Spurs have any chance to keep tonight’s road game against the Warriors close, secondary players like Kyle Anderson will have to step up.

Denzel Valentine (CHI): $4,900 vs. WAS

With Zach Lavine (rest) already ruled out of tonight’s game, we can expect Valentine to shift into the Bulls’ starting lineup. Valentine has had mixed results with the second unit since Lavine’s return, but prior to that, he was a consistent source of production as the starting small forward. In 379.5 minutes without Lavine on the court this season, Valentine has put up 0.86 FD points per minute and has a 20.3% usage rate, which is a 2.9% increase. The Wizards a tougher matchup for small forwards, ranking 11th in FD points allowed, but Valentine’s increased opportunity in tonight’s game puts him firmly on the fantasy radar.

Power Forward

Jabari Parker (MIL): $4,200 at ORL

Parker has only played in three games since returning from a torn ACL, but he has seen a bump in playing time in each game. After seeing Parker play 20.5 minutes against the Knicks on Tuesday night, this feels like the right time to start playing him – especially at such a cheap price tag. Parker has averaged 18.1 FD points in 17.6 minutes per game and he gets his best matchup to date against the Magic. On the season, the Magic rank 26th in defensive efficiency rating and 29th in rebounding percentage. With Parker set to exceed 20 minutes again tonight, he will be a prime target at power forward.

Marquese Chriss (PHX): $5,000 vs. DEN

Tyson Chandler‘s status is up in the air for tonight’s game, but if he can’t play, Chriss will stand to be the biggest beneficiary in his absence. In 58.7 minutes without Tyson Chandler on the court this season, Chriss is averaging 1.05 FD points per minute and has a 21.2% usage rate. The 3.0% increase in usage he sees is the largest bump on the team in this scenario. Denver is also beatable at the forward position, as they rank 22nd in defensive efficiency rating against forwards. If Chriss sees 25 to 30 minutes of action in tonight’s game, he can easily pay off his price tag.

Center

Bismack Biyombo (ORL): $5,000 vs. MIL

Biyombo has been a consistent source of fantasy production for a while now, averaging 25.1 FD points per game over 17 contests dating back to January 1st. While his price has been tough to swallow during that span, Biyombo’s $5,000 price tag is the cheapest it has been since he started his run as the starting center. In addition to his price, Biyomobo’s matchup is also fantastic, as the Bucks rank 24th in FD points allowed to centers and 26th in defensive rebounding percentage. Nikola Vucevic is nearing a return, but he has already been ruled out for tonight’s game. Biyomobo offers a safe floor against the Bucks.
