There are 12 games on deck for the first Wednesday of 2018 and it looks like there’s a little bit of everything in terms of roster construction. As always, be sure to monitor the news as the day unfolds as injury situations could alter this analysis quite a bit. Let’s take a look at a tournament lineup for FanDuel.

Point Guard
Chris Paul (HOU): $9,900 @ ORL
With James Harden on the shelf for the next couple of weeks, look for Paul to help shoulder the offensive load while absorbing the loss of a 36.1% usage rate. This is also a great individual matchup for the veteran point guard, so don’t overthink this one and be sure to lock Paul into your lineups.
Patty Mills (SA): $3,900 @ PHI
I’d expect Tony Parker to rest tonight after playing last night and if that does happen, look to Mills as a solid source of salary relief. This is a strong individual matchup and a big boost in pace overall for the Spurs. Mills has not been an overly efficient fantasy producer on a per minute basis this season, but the low value threshold makes him an appealing option across all formats.

Shooting Guard
Gary Harris (DEN): $6,700 vs. PHO
Harris is a virtual lock for 35+ minutes on a nightly basis and while he’s appropriately priced, there are a few other mitigating factors in play. This is not only an elite matchup for Harris, but it’s also a solid boost in terms of pace so I look for a big night out of Harris as a result.
Eric Gordon (HOU): $6,600 @ ORL
Gordon figures to slide into the starting lineup with James Harden out and while his price has had some time to reflect his new role, he’s still a solid option tonight due to the sheer volume available. This contest features a high projected total of 221 points, so there should be plenty of fantasy goodness to be had for Gordon and the Rockets.
Other Notables
Small Forward
Paul George (OKC): $8,400 @ LAL
George returned from a one-game absence to score 37.2 FDP on Sunday and with a few days to rest, he should be good to go tonight. This is a homecoming for George who will no doubt be fired up to put on a show for a team that he could very well wind up playing for next season. While he doesn’t quite possess the floor that LeBron James does, he’s a fine consolation for the price while still carrying nice upside.
Kyle Anderson (SA): $4,900 @ PHI
Barring any changes in how the Spurs continue to handle Kawhi Leonard as he works his way back to 100%, I’d expect him to be out tonight after playing last night. Assuming this holds true, Anderson would likely be looking at a temporary boost this evening. Anderson is averaging right around 0.83 FDP/min this season, so if we project him for close to 30 minutes he should be able to pay off that modest salary this evening.
Other Notables
Power Forward
Dario Saric (PHI): $7,000 vs. SA
Saric has scored 40+ FDP in three straight, which leaves him underpriced tonight. He has shown the ability to contribute now regardless of whether or not Joel Embiid is on the floor, which is a boon to his fantasy stock. It sounds like Embiid is uncertain to play tonight, which only enhances the value for Saric.
John Henson (MIL): $5,800 vs. IND
Henson is averaging 0.88 FDP/min on the season and while his minutes can be tough to predict at times, he is a solid midrange option this evening. This is a good matchup against the Pacers, who rank in the bottom third of the league in terms of team rebounding rate. Henson’s ability to block shots also gives him a bit of upside, so feel free to deploy him in tournaments tonight.
Other Notables
Center
Bismack Biyombo (ORL): $6,700 vs. HOU
Biyombo should continue to be a strong producer in place of the injured Nikola Vucevic and in a contest that figures to be full of fantasy goodness, he stands as a great option this evening. Houston is a strong rebounding team, but without Biyombo playing starter’s minutes, he still feels like a good buy. He’s eclipsed his current value threshold (31.8 FDP) in each of the last four games while crossing the 40 FDP mark in his last outing.
