I’m also looking to get the band back together by pairing Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant back in the same lineup. Hopefully, they can get along and put up huge games for my DFS lineup.

Point Guard
Russell Westbrook (OKC): $11,300 vs DEN
While I recommend taking a stars and scrubs approach to Monday’s slate by rostering at least two studs, if you do only roster one high-priced stud and go with a more balanced approach then Russell Westbrook should be the one stud you fit in. He will face a Nuggets’ defense that has allowed the second most FanDuel points to opposing PGs this season, not that you ever really need a reason to roster him.

Isaiah Canaan (PHO): $3,700 @ DAL
Isaiah Canaan looked like he was shot out of a cannon in his first game following is signing with the Suns. He played 26 minutes while putting up 15 points, five rebounds and seven assists against the Timberwolves and played the most minutes of any Suns’ PG. Canaan’s impressive debut should get him similar court time on Monday against the Mavericks. While the matchup isn’t nearly as good, he doesn’t need much to meet or exceed his near minimum salary.
Shooting Guard
Donovan Mitchell (UTH): $7,400 @ HOU
They say good things come in pairs so I am going to test that theory with my SG and SF recommendations for Monday’s slate. Starting off at SG we have a pair of Jazz players who should be able to play beautiful music together in an up-tempo matchup against the Rockets. The Rockets have allowed the eighth most FD points to opposing SGs this season and Mitchell has shown a solid floor with upside in his rookie season.
Rodney Hood (UTH): $5,400 @ HOU
Playing the supporting role in the Jazz duet is Rodney Hood, who should be considered a SF from a DvP perspective. That shouldn’t matter much as the Rockets have also allowed the eighth most FD points per game to SFs this season. After working his way back from missing seven games with an injury, Hood should start to see an uptick in his minutes back into the low 30s and has a lot of upside in the favorable up-tempo matchup.
Small Forward
Kevin Durant (GS): $12,000 @ LAL
The encore for the Jazz duet is a pair of Warriors at the SF position. Kevin Durant has been a beast since Steph Curry went down averaging 63.2 FanDuel points over his last four games. Not that he needs it but he also has a great matchup against the Lakers who have allowed the second most FD points to opposing SFs this season.
Omri Casspi (GS): $4,500 @ LAL
Omri Casspi is the second Warrior to consider at the SF position with their injury-riddled roster. The key for Casspi is the absence of Draymond Green. Over the last two games with Green out, Casspi has averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds while playing at least 25 minutes in each game. With Green out again on Monday, there is some cheap value in the Warriors frontcourt.
Power Forward
Kelly Olynyk (MIA): $6,200 @ ATL
The other frontcourt with a lack of healthy bodies is in Miami where the Heat will be without both Hassan Whiteside and James Johnson for their matchup against the Hawks on Monday. Kelly Oynyk is coming off a big game with 11 points, five rebounds, four assists and five blocks for 37 FD points. He played 34 minutes in that game and should see a similar workload on Monday. If you want more value from the Heat frontcourt than also give Jordan Mickey ($3,900) consideration.
Jordan Bell (GS): $4,700 @ LAL
Jordan Bell is the third Warriors’ player in Monday’s DFS lineup as he also benefits greatly from the absence of Green. Over the last two games with Green out, Bell has stuffed the stat sheet with 9.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game while playing around 25 minutes in each outing. Bell also gets the added benefit of a sensational matchup against the Lakers who have allowed the most FD points to opposing PFs this season.
Center
Richaun Holmes (PHI): $4,500 @ CHI
There are a variety of ways you can go for cheap value at the center position on Monday’s slate. My favorite two are Ekpe Udoh (if Derick Favors is out) and Richaun Holmes. Holmes will get a minutes and usage bump with Joel Embiid resting for Monday’s game against the Bulls. Holmes put up 12 points and nine rebounds in the last game that Embiid sat out. Udoh’s $4,700 salary can also fit into this lineup and may be my preferred choice if Favors is ruled out, especially in GPPs.
