As if you couldn’t have predicted it, Sean Koerner (STATS) pulled off the three-peat this year. He has now been in the accuracy competition five years and finished top ten each time including placing #1 each of the past three seasons. In fact, he didn’t just finish #1 this year, he obliterated the rest of the field. The difference in accuracy gap between him and 2nd place was even larger than the gap between 2nd place and 24th place. Sean managed to finish #1 out of 111 experts at grading wide receivers, #2 for quarterbacks and #9 for running backs. Defense/Special Teams are not even part of the overall formula since not all experts participate in ranking the position, but wouldn’t you know it, Sean finished #1 at ranking DSTs as well. His season was marked by remarkable consistency. He somehow only finished outside the top 30 experts in two weeks all season, while placing in the top 10 seven separate weeks. Congratulations to Sean, once again, for a spectacular season. Let’s take a look at how the rest of the top 10 ended up below. You can view the full list of accuracy rankings (111 experts) here.

Behind Koerner, Pat Fitzmaurice (The Football Girl) edged out John Paulsen (4for4.com) to finish in second place. Pat is no newcomer to success in these competitions either. In fact, this is his fifth season finishing in the top 15. He was the second most accurate at ranking tight ends this year and third for quarterbacks. Congratulations to Pat on another strong season.
As is often the case, we had a number of experts repeat top 10 performances this season. Paulsen, as mentioned above, has now placed in the top six in 7 of the past 8 seasons. Justin Boone (theScore), who finished fourth this season, was #7 last year. Like Paulsen, he has maintained this success for over half a decade. This was his fifth top 10 finish in the past six seasons. The other experts to repeat top 10 finishes were Bill Enright (FFChamps), who was #3 last year, and Dave Major (XN Sports) who finished fifth. Congratulations to these fierce competitors for continued excellence.
Week 16 Results
Rudy Gamble (Razzball) was the most accurate expert in Week 16 to close out the expert accuracy competition this season. He jumped from #9 all the way into the top 5 with such a strong finish. In fact, it was almost unbelievably Rudy’s fourth #1 week of the season. Perhaps even more extraordinary is that he was among the five boldest rankers all season in terms of differential from the Expert Consensus, and he still managed to pull off a top ten season-long ranking. There was not another expert among the top ten boldest rankers who even finished in the top 50 for the season-long contest.
All of this wasn’t enough to catch our season-long leader, however, as Sean Koerner (STATS) managed to finish in the top 20 once again this week. There was some movement during Week 16 within the top 10 season long experts, as only Gamble, John Paulsen (4for4.com), and Dave Major (XN Sports) managed to finish in the top 20 for the week with Koerner. Well done to these experts on finishing out the season with a strong showing.
We’ll be back next year with more expert accuracy action. Until then, you can review the final results here. Congratulations again to everyone in the top 10 for a fantastic season and good luck again next season.
