Welcome to the Tuesday edition of the NBA FanDuel lineup article. After being spoiled with a huge slate last Tuesday night, we’re back to a small, three game slate tonight. With that being said, all three games currently have a projected game total over 200 in Vegas so there is still some potential for an interesting slate. Let’s go ahead and take a look at my lineup for tonight’s slate.
Point Guard
Kyrie Irving (BOS): $8,500 at BKN
Irving suffered a fractured facial bone in the first minute of action on Friday night against the Hornets. Irving sat out Sunday’s night game against the Raptors, but he is expected to wear a protective mask for the next two weeks and will return to the starting lineup tonight against the Nets. The matchup with the Nets is a juicy one considering the Celtics currently have the second-highest projected team total on the slate and the Nets have allowed the fourth-most FanDuel points to opposing point guards this season.
Kyle Lowry (TOR): $7,700 at HOU
The game with the highest project total on the board tonight is the one between the Raptors and the Rockets, with the Rockets only favored by a few points. We will want to have a ton of exposure to this game on this small slate and one of the pieces I like from the Raptors is Lowry since the Rockets have struggled with defending opposing point guards this season.

Shooting Guard
DeMar DeRozan (TOR): $8,100 at HOU
Another player who I really like from the Raptors tonight is DeRozan. Lowry may be the point guard for the Raptors, but DeRozan leads the team by large margin in usage percentage at 31.7%. The Rockets have only been middle of the pack at defending opposing shooting guards this season.
Marcus Smart (BOS): 6,200 at BKN
Smart is the starting shooting guard for the Celtics, but he also spends a decent chunk of time running the point with the Celtic’s second unit. Smart is a pretty good bargain for tonight’s slate, considering the up-tempo matchup with the Nets who really struggle on defense.
Small Forward
Trevor Ariza (HOU): $5,700 vs. TOR
Ariza is probably not going to win you a GPP contest anytime soon, but he has been a pretty consistent cash game option scoring between 17 and 31.4 FanDuel points in all but one game this season. He’s a cheap option to get some exposure to the highest projected scoring team on the slate and he is capable of picking up some steals since he is a pretty solid defender.
Rudy Gay (SAS): $5,300 at DAL
Gay has not started a game this season, but he has been contributing the most for the Spurs at the small forward position while Kawhi Leonard nurses his injured quad. By playing with the second unit, Gay has been able to carry the second-highest usage percentage on the Spurs only behind LaMarcus Aldridge. Tonight he has a solid matchup against the Mavericks, who have really struggled with defending opposing small forwards this season.
Power Forward
Serge Ibaka (TOR): $5,300 at HOU
Ibaka is not a high usage player by any means, but he is someone who can fill multiple stat categories in points, rebounds and blocks. He is generally a pretty safe cash game option and should be able to return value on this salary against the Rockets tonight.
Jayson Tatum (BOS): $5,100 at BKN
Tatum has had a solid rookie season through his first 14 games in his NBA career, averaging nearly 14 real points and almost six rebounds per game. Tatum is another player who should be a pretty safe cash game option in a fast-paced matchup against the Nets, who have allowed the most FanDuel points to opposing power forwards this season.
Center
Al Horford (BOS): $7,800 at BKN
To round out my exposure of Celtics players, I’m using Horford. He is off to a really nice start to the season averaging nearly a double-double in points and rebounds and playing 32 minutes per game. He should be able to thrive in this great matchup against the Nets, who have allowed the second-most FanDuel points to opposing centers this season.
