FanDuel NBA Value Plays: Wednesday (11/1)

FanDuel NBA Value Plays: Wednesday (11/1)

There are 12 games on FanDuel’s main slate tonight. The Phoenix-Washington game is the projected highest-scoring game at 225.5, with the Minnesota-New Orleans game following closely behind at 224.

You are going to have your pick of many of the NBA’s top stars but they are pricey. James Harden, John Wall, Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Kristaps Porzingis, Ben Simmons, Blake Griffin, Boogie Cousins, Karl-Anthony Towns, Hassan Whiteside, and Nikola Jokic are all priced at 9,000 or above. If you want to fit some of these stars into your lineup tonight, you will need to find some value.

Here are 10 plays that are worth considering as you set your lineup for tonight’s slate of games. You will need to free up some salary if you are going to fit one or two of the high-priced players into your lineup tonight. Remember to check the news and injury reports, especially in the 30 minutes prior to lock. Use all the information available to you to make the best decision possible for your lineup. Good luck and have fun!

Point Guard

T.J. McConnell (PHI): $5,000 vs. ATL
Three straight games of hitting value earning 29.1, 31.8, and 41.5 FD points during that stretch. He is a little higher priced than I normally like for a value play but he is an option if you need to pay down at this position and still get a solid player that will probably accumulate some minutes.

Mike James (PHO): $4,500 at WAS
Though it was against Brooklyn, James scored 24 points in 29 minutes last night. That is not normal for him and you can’t expect that on a back-to-back against Washington but he should come close to value with the minutes he has been getting (26 MPG in the last four games). He has reached value in three of his last five games.

Emmanuel Mudiay (DEN): $3,900 vs. TOR
Mudiay has also reached value in his last three games but he is not as reliable because he is not playing very many minutes (22 MPG). He has earned 21.7, 24.1, and 26.8 FD points during that stretch as he has reached double-figure scoring in each of those games.

Shooting Guard

Tony Snell (MIL): $3,500 at CHA
Snell is a much better real-life player than he is a fantasy player but he is someone that can reach value at this cheap price. He has gone over 20 FD points in three of his last five games, including 23.4 last week against this same Charlotte team. But, he has also averaged 9.7 FD points in those other two games so he is definitely not a safe pick. He plays a good deal of minutes as he has is averaging 30.8 MPG.

Jodie Meeks (WAS): $3,400 vs. PHO
Meeks has seen an uptick in minutes the last couple of games and has reached value in each of the last three games averaging 18.7 FD points during that stretch. I normally wouldn’t feel comfortable clicking on his name but he is playing the woeful Suns tonight. He stands a good chance of reaching double-figure scoring for his fourth straight game.

Small Forward

PJ Tucker (HOU): $4,300 at NYK
In his eight games this season, Tucker has earned more than 20 FD points. He is not a sure thing but he is capable of a double-double most nights. He is not going to explode but he can put up solid numbers and get you 5X value.

Dillon Brooks (MEM): $3,800 vs. ORL
Brooks is intriguing because he is getting some good playing time, seeing 31 and 28 minutes in the last two games. He has also reached value by earning 21.1 and 21.5 FD points in each of those games. He opened the season earning 44.0 FD points against New Orleans. He has a good deal of talent so if you are going to pay down at this position, then he is a good option.

Power Forward

Ryan Anderson (HOU): $5,200 at NYK
Anderson is much more expensive than my normal value plays but unless injuries open up, there are not a lot of options at this position tonight. He becomes an option because he is no the road and for some reason, he plays much better on the road. In his five games this year on the road, he has earned 30+ FD points on three occasions. If you are looking for a GPP option, then you might take a gamble on Anderson.

Pascal Siakam (TOR): $4,400 at DEN
Siakam is a talented forward that is getting an opportunity to play with Jonas Valanciunas out with an injury. After seeing 17 minutes combined in the first three games, he has averaged 23.5 MPG in the last three games. During that stretch, he has earned 22.5, 31.5, and 24.4 FD points. He should be in line to reach 5X value again tonight, provided Valanciunas is still out and he gets the minutes.

Center

Brandan Wright (MEM): $3,200 vs ORL
The Center position looks like a place to pay up tonight. However, there is an intriguing punt option if you want to fade some of the superstars on this slate. Marc Gasol was questionable for tonight’s game as of the writing of this article. If he is ruled out (and you want to punt the Center position), then Wright becomes GPP viable. He is clearly a backup but is talented and produced last year when given a chance. He has already had two games where he has earned 20+ FD points in limited time. He should easily reach 5X value if he sees increased minutes with Gasol being out.
