Welcome to the Tuesday edition of the NBA FanDuel lineup article. Despite it being a small six-game slate, there are several enticing options to work with tonight. Let’s go ahead and jump right into my lineup for tonight’s slate.

Point Guard
Kyrie Irving (BOS): $9,100 vs. NYK
With Gordon Hayward out for potentially the rest of the season, Kyrie Irving is going to see a huge boost in his usage percentage. I imagine his salary will continue to rise over that time as well, which means we need to take advantage of his salary that is hovering right around $9,000. Although it’s a small sample size, the Knicks have really struggled with defending opposing point guards through their first two games and I do not see them putting up a huge fight against Kyrie tonight.
D.J. Augustin (ORL): $5,900 vs. BKN
Elfrid Payton missed the last game with a hamstring injury and D.J. Augustin really shined putting up 33.8 FanDuel points in 26 minutes against the Cavs. Payton has already been ruled out for tonight’s game and even though his salary nearly doubled, I still think we can use him tonight in a great matchup against the Nets. The Nets are not a fundamentally sound defensive team and they play at one of the quickest paces in the league, which should give Augustin and the Magic a few extra possessions.

Shooting Guard
Tim Hardaway Jr. (NYK): $4,700 @ BOS
Tim Hardaway really blossomed last year with the Hawks when he saw his role increase and everyone immediately thought he would continue to improve when he left the Hawks for the Knicks. However, it has been a rough start for Hardaway through his first two games so far. To be fair, he had two pretty difficult matchups against Paul George of the Thunder and the pretty solid defensive wing defenders of the Pistons. The Celtics lost a couple of their excellent wing defenders from one season ago, so I strongly believe we could see Hardaway begin to bust out of his early-season slump.
Justin Holiday (CHI): 6,400 at CLE
The Bulls’ are my favorite team, but I will be the first to admit that collectively this season is going to be difficult on the eyes to watch. With that being said, there is a great opportunity to cherry pick some solid DFS options from time to time, since even the worst team in the league can provide some value. Through the Bulls’ first two games, Justin Holiday has played a total of 70 minutes and has attempted 24 field goals, 20 of which came from behind the arc. Under Fred Hoiberg, this time is going to take a ridiculous amount of three-point shots and even though the Bulls will likely get blown out by the Cavs, Holiday should still see around 35 minutes in this game.
Small Forward
Jaylen Brown (BOS): $6,100 vs. NYK
Another person on the Celtics who is going to benefit from the Hayward injury is going to be Jaylen Brown. Brown has averaged 34 minutes per game in their first three contests and has been the Celtics second-best scorer, only behind Irving. In addition to that, the matchup against the Knicks tonight is a pretty solid one.
Jonathon Simmons (ORL): $4,400 vs. BKN
Even though LeBron James and Jimmy Butler are on tonight’s slate, I really think small forward is a good source of value for tonight’s slate. LeBron will likely be able to coast tonight in a blowout against the Bulls and I think Jimmy Butler‘s salary is too high at the moment since his usage rate will not be nearly as high as it was when he was on the Bulls last season. I really like Jonathon Simmons tonight as a value option considering he has scored double-digit real points in each of his first three games and the matchup is outstanding against the Nets.
Power Forward
Kristaps Porzingis (NYK): $9,300 vs. BOS
You can definitely make the argument to pay up for Anthony Davis here tonight, but I would much rather go the balanced lineup route tonight and use Kristaps Porzingis tonight. With Carmelo Anthony in Oklahoma City now, the offense is going to completely run through Porzingis this season. In each of his first two games this season, Porzingis has scored at least 31 real points and has grabbed at least five rebounds.
Aaron Gordon (ORL): $8,000 vs. BKN
Another player who I like from the Magic tonight is Aaron Gordon. Gordon took a pretty nice step forward in 2017-2018 and he is primed to take another step forward in his fourth season in the league. I may sound like a broken record, but the matchup against Brooklyn tonight is outstanding and with there only being six games on the slate tonight, it’s not a bad idea to load up with three or four players from the Magic tonight.
Center
Enes Kanter (NYK): $5,600 at BOS
Enes Kanter is another player who switched teams this previous off-season and he should see starter type minutes for the Knicks this year. Kanter has seen 22 and 23 minutes in his first two games this year and has scored double-digit real points in each contest. In addition to those numbers, Kanter has grabbed a total of 17 boards and he is more than capable of obtaining a double-double any night in this Knicks’ rotation.
