Whether you were a big winning or need to try to win back some of the money you lost on the NFL on Sunday, look to play some DFS hoops on Monday with today’s FanDuel lineup advice. Monday features a nice sized nine-game slate of action in the Association that includes five games with Vegas totals over 215 points and a lot of games that are expected to be close.
As always, be sure to watch for player news and injury updates leading up to tipoff just in case some value plays open up. Some of the stats that I reference are my own custom defense versus position (DvP) ratings that use a blend of year-to-date and last five games data that is weighted between similar positions.

Point Guard
Goran Dragic (MIA): $6,900 vs MIN
Dragic is a mainstay in my Cash games lineups and Monday night will be no different. He seems to always be reasonably priced and is one of the most consistent players from night-to-night. He could see a little boost in production against the Timberwolves who have allowed increased production in points (+15.4%), rebounds (+10.2%), assists (+38.5%) and steals (+13.1%) to opposing PGs this season.
TJ McConnell (PHI): $4,900 @ HOU
McConnell has seen an increase in his minutes and fantasy production over the last two games with rookie Markelle Fultz on the shelf with a shoulder injury. He has averaged 29.5 minutes and 36.7 FanDuel points in those two games and will face the same Rockets’ team that McConnell posted six points, five rebounds, nine assists and six steals against on his way to a 41.5 FanDuel point night just last week.

Shooting Guard
Andrew Wiggins (MIN): $6,200 @ MIA
Just like all of the Timberwolves, Wiggins is still trying to find his groove with the revamped roster this season. His production has a tendency to be a little erratic but with a salary of just $6,200 his consistent 30-plus minutes per game gives him a solid floor and he always has the potential for a monster game. That monster game could come on Monday against a Heat team that has allowed an increase of 10.1% to opposing SGs scoring output this season.
Tim Hardaway Jr. (NYK): $4,300 vs DEN
Hardaway finally had his breakout game for the Knicks this season on Sunday with 34 points, four rebounds and eight assists on his way to 55.8 FanDuel points. While he might not be able to duplicate that performance he also shouldn’t regress back to the poor fantasy production from the first four games of the season. Hardaway is a streaky player and now is the time to roster him while his salary is low and he is heating up.
Small Forward
Evan Fournier (ORL): $7,400 @ NO
Time to start the Orlando Magic portion of Monday’s write-up. Getting some exposure to the Magic/Pelicans game which as the highest Vegas point total on the slate is a good idea. It’s difficult to get the exposure with the Pelicans since all of their production comes from two high-priced studs (Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins). So, I’ll turn to the Magic and lead it off with Fournier who has posted at least 30 FanDuel points in every game this season and has reached into the 40s in good matchups against the Nets. The Pelicans are another good matchup.
Jonathon Simmons (ORL): $4,200 @ NO
It’s strange to recommend two players at the same position but with SF such a difficult position to fill many nights, I often look for cheap options at the position. Simmons comes off the bench for the Magic but has been very consistent playing 20-plus minutes in every game while scoring in double-digits in each contest. Simmons is coming off a career-high 27 points against the Hornets on Sunday and will look to ride the hot streak in a high scoring affair against the Pelicans.
Power Forward
Aaron Gordon (ORL): $7,600 @ NO
We end the Magic trifecta with Aaron Gordon. He could struggle a little bit with scoring in a matchup against Anthony Davis but he should be able to contribute in other areas against a Pelicans’ team that has allowed increase production to opposing PFs in rebounds (+12.9%), assists (+25.4%), steals (+7.2%) and blocks (+18.6%). This ends the Magic portion of the write-up.
LaMarcus Aldridge (SA): $8,700 @ BOS
In cash games, you want consistent high-floor players and Aldridge has been just that without Kawhi Leonard to start the season. Aldridge has posted at least 37 FanDuel points in every game this season and has topped 45 FanDuel points in half of his games. He will continue to be the primary offensive weapon for the Spurs on Monday against the Celtics who have struggled to stop opposing big men allowing increased production points, rebounds and assists.
Center
Karl-Anthony Towns (MIN): $9,800 @ MIA
While I would love to pay up to get DeMarcus Cousins at center his $12,000 salary is hard to swallow when Towns is over $2,000 cheaper and offers similar upside. Towns posted his first monster game of the season in his last outing with 33 points and 19 rebounds against the Thunder. Next, he gets to face the Heat without their starting center, Hassan Whiteside. The Heat have allowed an increase in points (+14.9%) this season. Look out!
