Monday night consists of six games, primarily of non-playoff teams (nine of the 12 teams playing are not in the current playoff picture). But, there still are some intriguing young players to choose from with the Timberwolves, Sixers, and Suns all playing. Additionally, the team with the longest active winning streak hits the hardwood in the Miami Heat (surprised?). Here is the lineup I am rolling with.

Point Guard
Goran Dragic (MIA): $7,800 vs. BKN
Let’s start with the aforementioned Heat—the catalyst behind the recent improvement for the team has been Dragic. During the team’s seven-game winning streak Dragic has averaged 23.3 points, 6.4 assists and 5.0 rebounds (38.1 FanDuel points). Plus he gets a matchup against the porous Nets, who have given up the second-most FanDuel points to point guards in their last 10 games. In their last meeting, Dragic flirted with a triple-double (17 points, nine assists, and nine rebounds). Expect more of the same on Monday night.
Reggie Jackson (DET): $6,600 vs. BOS
Jackson has been playing better of late, scoring over 32 FanDuel points in each of the Pistons’ past four games. In that timeframe he has averaged 21.7 points, 6.5 assists, and 4.5 rebounds. An output similar to those averages would absolutely make him worth the fairly low price tag. The Pistons face a below-average Celtics defense on Monday, who have surrendered an average of 46 FanDuel points to point guards in their past 10 games.
Shooting Guard
Dion Waiters (MIA): $6,300 vs. BKN
The juicy matchup against the Nets leads to the second Heat guard in this lineup. Waiters is playing the best stretch of his season—in his past five games he has averaged 25.2 points, 4.6 assists, and 4.2 rebounds (35.7 FanDuel points). While his shooting has come back down to earth in the past two games (below 40 percent in each of those games), he is still a solid bet to put up good numbers against one of the worst teams in the NBA.
Arron Afflalo (SAC): $3,600 vs. PHI
The veteran Afflalo has received more playing time since Rudy Gay (Achilles) went down with a season-ending injury, playing at least 29 minutes in five straight games. Afflalo has scored in double-digits in three straight and is coming off 23.4 FanDuel points versus the Hornets on Saturday. The added opportunities make him a solid gamble at the extremely low cost.
Small Forward
LeBron James (CLE): $10,500 vs. DAL
With this being the back-end of a back-to-back there is some concern that LeBron could be rested on Monday night. But with Kevin Love already declared out (back spasms), early reports indicate that LeBron should be in the lineup versus the Mavs. With Love’s absence, the King can be expected to carry an even bigger workload Monday night. In the past four games Love has missed LeBron has averaged 28.7 points, 8.75 assists, and 9.5 rebounds—all of which are higher than his season averages (25.7 points, 8.5 assists, and 7.9 rebounds). Look for LeBron to fill the stat sheet on Monday night.
Shabazz Muhammad (MIN): $3,900 vs. ORL
The Magic have allowed the eighth-most FanDuel points to small forwards in their past 10 games, and Muhammad is coming off one of his better games of the season (18 points, seven rebounds). It’s a good matchup for the UCLA product, who has received an increase in minutes of late and has scored at least 16 points in three of the Timberwolves’ past four games. In those four games he has scored over 25 FanDuel points twice, making him a decent value play.
Power Forward
Zach Randolph (MEM): $6,400 vs. PHX
Zebo and the Grizzlies take on a below-average Suns defense Monday night. The Suns have allowed opponents to score 112 points per game this season, second worst in the NBA. Power Forwards have averaged 42.5 FanDuel points against Phoenix this season, which clearly bodes well for Randolph. He comes into the game having scored over 38 FanDuel points in the past two games and has shot an impressive 65 percent in those outings. There’s no reason he cannot continue his recent success against the Suns Monday night.
Gorgui Dieng (MIN): $5,800 vs. ORL
Dieng has averaged just under a double-double in the Timberwolves past three games—an average of 12 points and 9.33 boards in those contests. They aren’t eye-opening numbers, but Dieng is a solid player that can sneakily compile stats. In the Timberwolves’ past seven games Dieng has gone over 30 FanDuel points four times and is averaging 28.5 FanDuel points. Dieng makes for a good gamble with the plus matchup versus the Magic.
Center
Marc Gasol (MEM): $9,000 vs. PHX
We’re going with another Grizzlies frontcourt player against that suspect Suns defense. Gasol has been on a bit of a tear recently, averaging 30.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in his past five games—good for 46 FanDuel points per game. He is playing his best basketball of the season and should continue in Phoenix Monday night.
