The Most Accurate Experts from Week 1

We’re back! Once again we’re ready to to determine which expert produces the most accurate weekly rankings. Over the course of the next 16 weeks, we’ll crown our accuracy champ by scoring over 4 million start/sit predictions. That should give us a good gauge on who provides the best fantasy advice!

This year’s competition is our largest yet with 130+ experts in the field. Simply put, we’ve assembled a mix of the best prognosticators in the industry. The Tozzi Brothers (Legion Report) are our reigning champs and they’re ready to defend last season’s title.

Of course, before we can crown a winner for the season, we need to look at week 1′s accuracy results. Below are the top experts for the first week of the season. Full weekly standings are available in our accuracy section.

It’s been a pretty good week for Jamey Eisenberg. He became a father, topped every expert in our weekly Start/Sit Challenge and now we have the news that Eisenberg finished first overall in our week 1 accuracy contest. Congratulations, kudos and congrats are in store!

Eisenberg’s best week 1 picks came at the RB position. He was notably higher than the Expert Consensus on 3 backs that were surprising top 10 performers: Chris Ivory (+12 rank spots vs. Consensus), Mark Ingram (+11 rank spots vs. Consensus) and Chris Johnson (+9 rank spots vs. Consensus). Eisenberg was also one of just 5 experts (out of 134) to give Cordarrelle Patterson a top 10 WR rating. Patterson rewarded that faith by turning in a 125+ yard, 1 TD day. Eisenberg had the foresight to downgrade Keenan Allen, who faced a tough matchup on the road against Patrick Peterson. His ranking for Allen (WR #31) was lower than all but a handful of pundits. He was also among the 28% of experts that slotted Matt Ryan as a top 5 QB for the week. That was a good group to be a part of considering that Ryan was week 1’s top fantasy point scorer.
