It’s an exciting time for baseball fans. Opening Day is less than 2 weeks away and that kick starts 7 months of uninterrupted baseball action. In fact, once the season begins, there will be games in 180 of the next 183 days. It doesn’t get much better than that.
Of course, it can get a ‘little’ better if you draft a killer fantasy team. Who wants to spend the next 183 days watching their squad go down in flames, right? Miami Marlins fans need not answer that question…
Fortunately, we’ve developed some cool tools with our Cheat Sheet Wizard to try to prevent this from happening to your fantasy team. One of those tools is a Draft Analyzer. It rates how well your drafts (real and mock) have gone by projecting your league’s standings. In this post, we’ll give you a glimpse of how the Analyzer works in a practical way.
Expert Mock Drafts: Who Picked The Best Teams?
With the spirit of competition in mind, we thought it would be fun to look at 5 prominent expert mock drafts to see who came out on top according to our Draft Analyzer. After all, you frequently hear about expert mock drafts but you rarely see an objective analysis of who picked the best team. That is, until now:
Site | Format | #1 Rated Team | Mock Draft | Draft Analysis* |
ESPN | 10 Team, 5×5 Roto | Eric Karabell | View | View |
ESPN | 12 Team, 5×5 Roto | Dave Hunter | View | View |
CBS Sports | 12 Team, 5×5 Roto | Adam Aizer | View | View |
Fox Sports | 12 Team, 5×5 Roto | Adam Meyer | View | View |
SI.com | 15 Team, 5×5 Roto | Ray Flowers | View | View |
The Draft Analyzer supports custom categories for Roto/H2H. STD Points scoring from Yahoo!, ESPN and CBS is also supported.
If you click the Draft Analysis links in the table you’ll be able to view Projected Standings, each team’s Strengths and Weaknesses and the Draft Boards for the mocks. Below is an example of how the first draft “won” by Eric Karabell looks. Interestingly, Karabell finished with the top-rated Pitcher score despite waiting the 2nd longest among drafters to take his 1st Pitcher (Matt Cain at pick #45).
See How Your Team Rates
It’s nice to see how the experts are doing in their drafts. We’re sure you’re really happy for Eric Karabell that he bested his ESPN counterparts in a mock draft. He’s a nice guy and a fantasy sports pioneer, after all. We get it, though. You want to know how YOUR team stacks up in YOUR league.
You can get this and more (including draft assistance) by signing up for a PRO account at CheatSheetWizard.com. We’ve arranged a special deal with our friends at FanDuel that gives you free access to our draft tools when you make a qualifying FanDuel deposit.
And, as it relates to the Draft Analyzer, you’ll be able to see how you did in the following drafts:
- Mock drafts from our Draft Simulator
- Mock drafts from Yahoo, ESPN and CBS
- Any real draft used with our Draft Assistant
- Any real draft from ESPN
Best of luck to everyone with your upcoming drafts. With good fortune (and maybe some help), you’ll be on the top line of our analysis!
