Kudos to Roger Rotter (Roger Rotter Sports) for nabbing the top spot in this week’s standings. Rotter finished in the top 10 at three of the four major positions we track (RB: #1, QB: #2, TE: #7). A few of Rotter’s best predictions were downgrades of (typically) stud RBs. His ranking (RB #16) for Darren McFadden (22 yds rushing, 0 TDs) was lower than every expert we monitored. Similarly, Rotter had Jamaal Charles (3 yards rushing) rated lower than 92 of 99 experts. On the flip side, it never hurts to nail the peak performers and Rotter did just that by slotting the week’s top RB, Reggie Bush, 7 spots higher (RB #12) than the expert consensus.
Meanwhile, John Paulsen (4for4.com) has taken over the top spot in the Year-to-Standings of the accuracy contest. Paulsen won the competition in 2010 and finished in 2nd place last season so running ahead of the pack is a familiar feeling for him. Breathing right down Paulsen’s neck is another one of the most successful experts we’ve tracked over the past few years: David Dodds (FootballGuys). In the 5 accuracy contests (In-Season & Draft) we’ve undertaken, Dodds has finished in the top 5 of 4 of them. If past history is any indication, we shouldn’t expect Dodds to relinquish his lofty ranking very easily. Of course, there is still a long season to go so it will be exciting to see how this race plays out.
