The Minnesota Vikings' front office and pending free agent RB Aaron Jones Sr. have agreed to move back the void date on the veteran back's contract to the final day before free agency. (Source: Field Yates on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: This move allows Jones and the Vikings to have more time to discuss an extension, as Minnesota was set to take on $3.2 million in dead money in 2025. By moving the date back, the two sides can further work through a potential extension, with the front office likely wanting to minimize the cap hit it was set to take in the process during Jones' void year. This does not guarantee a deal will be made, but it shows both parties are interested in a longer partnership.

Michael DiRocco of ESPN reported that a Jaguars source called any rumors of a Trevor Lawrence trade “ridiculous.” (Source: Michael DiRocco on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: There were rumors swirling around that the Steelers "inquired" about a potential trade for Lawrence, but those were quickly put away. He should remain with the Jaguars as they look to turn things around under new coach Liam Coen.

Saints coach Kellen Moore said Alvin Kamara will “continue to be a really important piece” to the Saints offense. (Source: Katherine Terrell on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Kamara totaled 1,493 yards from scrimmage and eight total touchdowns this past season. He will be 30 at the start of next year, but he has shown he can still be efficient in a versatile role. Taysom Hill could also be released this offseason by the Saints which would open up some more goal line carries for Kamara.

James Bradberry told reporters that he tore his Achilles tendon and Soleus muscle last August. (Source: Brooks Kubena on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: It explains why Bradberry did not play this past season. There is a chance he ends up being a cap casualty this offseason as the Eagles can save in cap space if they make him a post-June 1 cut.

The Los Angeles Rams' front office is "committed" to extending QB Matthew Stafford, says Adam Schefter of ESPN, and that is their "first priority" as Stafford trade rumors surface early this offseason. (Source: Pat Leonard on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Schefter was non-exact when saying whether or not Stafford could be traded this offseason, but he said that the veteran QB has L.A.'s interest, and a trade would only be on the table if a deal can not be met. The trade rumors all remain speculative for now; until an impasse is insurmountable between Stafford (who is likely looking for more guarantees) and the Rams, Stafford will remain in Los Angeles.

Veteran running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire re-signed on a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints to remain through the 2025 season. (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Edwards-Helaire, who was born in and went to college in Louisiana, is returning to New Orleans for 2025. While he was not very involved in 2024, largely due to an extended stint on the non-football illness list due to his battle with PTSD, he did return at the end of the season and could be fully ready for 2025, his sixth NFL season. He has averaged 4.2 yards per carry throughout his career and is a successful pass-catcher, providing depth behind RBs Alvin Kamara and alongside both Kendre Miller and Jamaal Williams (if he remains on the team).

Recently hired New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore said the team is "fortunate" to have QB Derek Carr on the team and called him a "tremendous starting quarterback." (Source: Andrew Siciliano on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: While Moore did not directly answer the question, which was whether or not the Saints have a decision to make at quarterback or if the answer is on their roster, he still gave the veteran passer his flowers. Given cap implications, signs point toward Carr being on the roster in 2025, though as the veteran QB market heats up, it would not be a surprise either to see Carr get moved. Regardless, Carr should be considered the team's QB1 as long as he is on the roster.

2025 NFL Draft prospect Travis Hunter, who played both wide receiver and cornerback at Colorado and Jackson State, is set to attend the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine as a participant in the defensive back group. (Source: NFL.com)

Fantasy Impact: Hunter excelled at both positions at Colorado, recording 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns with four interceptions and 11 passes defended in 2024. He played both positions full-time, and while he insists he plans to do the same in the NFL, people remain skeptical about the practicality. However, some believe his best position at the NFL level is as a DB first who plays some on offense. His designation at the NFL Combine could be an indication of this, as he may be attending as a DB after receiving feedback from league circles.

Buffalo Bills RB James Cook indicated on an Instagram Live stream what he was looking for in an extension, pinning his comment "15 mill year" on his Wednesday, Feb. 12 live stream. (Source: Ryan Miller, Rochester Democrat and Chronicle)

Fantasy Impact: Cook followed up on X (formerly known as Twitter) later, and his brother Dalvin Cook had been advocating for the Bills RB's extension price tag throughout the NFL playoffs on X. At $15 million per year, the former Georgia back would slot just ahead of Jonathan Taylor ($14 million AAV), behind only Christian McCaffrey ($19 million AAV). Cook enters 2025 on the final year of his rookie deal, making $5.142 million in base salary.

The New York Jets are moving on from veteran QB Aaron Rodgers, officially informing him that they plan to move forward elsewhere. Rodgers will likely be a post-June 1 cut, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Moving on from Rodgers will lead to a dead cap hit, but by releasing him post-June 1, New York can spread that cap hit between 2025 and 2026. Currently, the Jets don't have much of a plan at QB (Tyrod Taylor and Jordan Travis), so they could either end up as players in the veteran market or in the 2025 NFL Draft. As well, it seems likely that Davante Adams could be on the chopping block as well, among other players.
