Jamison Crowder will compete for slot and return specialist roles

Redskins' coach Jay Gruden envisions Jamison Crowder as a someone with big-play potential as a punt returner, but general manager Scot McCloughan wants Crowder to get some time in the slot. (Washington Post)
Fantasy Impact:
McCloughan said that Crowder's route-running skills are "excellent," and he would prefer that Crowder focus on his receiving abilities over his punt returning. Andre Roberts was signed last signed to be the team's slot receiver. He started off the season well, but struggled to stay consistent towards the end. He was also the team's return man on both punts and kickoffs, but failed to make a difference on special teams. If Crowder has a good training camp, he could move ahead of Roberts on the depth chart and steal his slot receiver and punt returner roles. Even if that happens, though, don't expect him to have much fantasy value this season.
