This performance continues a concerning trend for Houser, whose season ERA ballooned to an unsettling 8.16, accompanied by a WHIP of 1.85 across six starts. His strikeout rate remains low at 5.0 K/9, and a poor strikeout-to-walk ratio of 0.80 does little to inspire confidence. Given these metrics, fantasy managers should be wary of relying on Houser in any but the deepest of leagues or perhaps as a desperate streaming option, depending on the matchup. His high ERA and WHIP are particularly damaging in categories leagues, making him a risky play in most formats.
