Martin Perez tosses six solid innings

by Mitch Cox | Pirates Correspondent | Mon, May 9th 1:04am EDT

Martin Perez allowed just two hits over six innings of work in the Rangers 8-3 win over the Tigers today. Perez surrendered both hits in the third inning, a single to Ian Kinsler and a double off the bat of Miguel Cabrera. Perez battled control problems, as he walked three in an inning and five in the game.

Fantasy Impact:

Perez did not figure in the decision. However, except for the bout of wildness, particularly in the third inning, he was very impressive. He struck out seven in six innings, which is far above his average of about 5 K/9.
