Paul DeJong spent the night at a Pittsburgh hospital for observation, but was released on Wednesday. (Mark Zuckerman on Twitter)

The Nationals are hopeful it’s just a fractured nose, but they have to wait for the swelling around DeJong's eye to go down before knowing for sure. He was placed on the injured list.
