Jeffrey Springs expected to miss at least two months

Jeffrey Springs is expected to miss at least two months due to the arm/elbow injury he suffered in his last start. (Marc Topkin on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

The 30-year-old will head for additional testing to identify a specific diagnosis, though they expect that it is more than a nerve injury. If it requires surgery, he will probably be done for the season. Given the dominating pitching he demonstrated in his first three starts, he will be hard to replace. Springs can be stashed on the IL by those with space and those in dynasty leagues, but he is droppable in redraft if space is needed. Taj Bradley is in line to replace him in the Tampa Bay rotation and is worth a pickup in deeper leagues.
