Dexter Fowler first career strike out victim of Noah Syndergaard
by Dale Redman | Wed, May 13th 1:26pm EDT
Cubs leadoff man Dexter Fowler was the first batter to face rookie Noah Syndergaard, making his MLB debut and was the first strike out victim as well. Fowler went 0-for-4 with one walk and one run as the Cubs ultimately defeated Syndergaard and the Mets, 6-1.
Fantasy Impact:
Tuesday snapped a modest four-game hitting streak for Fowler. The center fielder was 6-for-14 with five runs and one home run in the last four games. Fowler is hitting .262 with a .348 OBP and .749 OPS on the season. His eight stolen bases are also good for fifth in the NL. Fowler remains available in just over half of Yahoo leagues and makes for a solid pickup for anyone desperate for steals or in leagues that use OBP.
