Fantasy Impact: Whitlock is dealing with soreness in his elbow which led to him staying in Boston. He was on track to re-join the Red Sox next week, which could be on hold. There should be an additional update provided on his status later next week.


Joc Pederson scratched Friday

Fantasy Impact: Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said before the game that Pederson was fine and that he just decided he would rather use him off the bench instead. He could return to the lineup on Saturday.


DJ LeMahieu is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment on Friday with Double-A Somerset. (Source: Chris Kirschner on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: LeMahieu has been on the injured list all season due to a fractured foot. He will likely need to play in a handful of games on his rehab assignment.

Fantasy Impact: Brewer is dealing with lower back tightness. He has posted a 3.09 ERA across 11 2/3 innings out of the Cubs bullpen so far this season. Porter Hodge was called up as the corresponding move.

Fantasy Impact: Scherzer underwent imaging on his elbow, neck and triceps that came back clean. However, he now has a nerve issue. He received some shots to help calm the nerve. If all goes well when playing catch on Friday, he'll be on track to throw a bullpen session soon.

Fantasy Impact: Hall will pitch for the High-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Sunday. He has been sidelined the past few weeks due to a left knee sprain.

Fantasy Impact: Crawford was scheduled to play in his final rehab game on Wednesday, but he wound up leaving the game early after getting hit by a pitch. According to Divish, Crawford's hand is still "sore and a little swollen." There should be another update provided on his status in the next day or two.

Fantasy Impact: It was the second rehab game for Soler after playing in his first game on Wednesday. He could return to the Giants lineup as early as Friday.


Brendan McKay has been shut down from throwing for five-to-six weeks. (Source: MLB.com)

Fantasy Impact: McKay reported left elbow discomfort on May 3 after being promoted to Triple-A Durham and was placed on the minor league 60-day injured list. After undergoing an MRI, he was diagnosed with a flexor/pronator strain and an accompanying UCL sprain with doctors recommending rehab for five-to-six weeks.

Fantasy Impact: Springs is scheduled to next pitch in a Rookie-level Florida Complex League game on Monday. He is continuing to work his way back from undergoing Tommy John surgery and is on track to return at some point in the summer.

Fantasy Impact: Williams said he did not feel any lingering effects on Wednesday from his first bullpen session since his injury. He is scheduled to throw another bullpen session on Friday.
