Fighting is natural in any passionate community, but the arguments seem to be more intense in fantasy football forums. This photo reminded me of a pissed off moderator putting the final knockout punch on an unruly member. Well, we want to do our part to help channel this energy into more constructive team building activities, such as fighting with other fantasy football forums.
That’s right, we’re going to referee a competition between the best fantasy football forums, and we’re going to do it FantasyPros style. Meaning, it’s all about the accuracy of advice provided. Every week we’ll post up a handful of the toughest start/sit decisions (where our experts are split down the middle like this). Each forum’s members will make their picks and we’ll keep count of the voting. We’ll score and publish the results each week. After 16 weeks of battling it out, we’ll crown the winning community as “The Most Accurate Fantasy Football Forum.” (yeah, I know we probably need a new name).
The communities at Rotoworld, CBS Sports, FFToday, FFCafe, FantasyFootball.com, FootballGuys, FantasySharks, BrunoBoys, and FantasyFootballStarters are a few of the confirmed participants (and probably already talking trash). Do you belong to a forum that would want to compete as well? If so, ask your moderator to contact us and we’ll be happy to supply more details. We think this will be a great way to create some healthy debate within the forum and rally behind a common goal (to kick the rear ends of the other forums!).
For those of you that are thinking, “that’s great but why can’t I track my own accuracy?” Don’t worry, we got you covered too. In fact, we’ll be giving away over $25,000 in prizes this year in our FREE games and contests. You’ll have a chance to compete against the experts every week to see how you stack up. And I know some of you like to beat up on the experts, so here’s your chance to back up the talk. More details to come. . .
Finally, I want to squeeze in a thank you to all the new visitors at our site. We know we’re the new kids on the block, so we appreciate you stopping by to have a look. We welcome any suggestions so fire away if you’re thinking, “wouldn’t it be cool if…”
